Just picked this up today, planning to give it to a friend. Anyone know anything about it?

Merit Badges Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a 'folding hunter' knife that isn't a Buck 110 for thirty (30) consecutive days. Imperials aren't as well regarded, or as sought after, as Victorinox or Wenger but Imperial did try to compete in the market.  I like them and collect a few of them.  The patina on the carbon steel appeals to me and you can get a decent edge on them. 

If you search in the forum for Imperial BSA you'll get a few postings on them.  Also, this Scout Knives link might be useful.

Participate in a Challenge, carry a fire-starting item and post a picture daily  (in use if possible) for 30 days. Lighters, matches, ferro rods, fire pistons, Signal, candles, sparkers, tinder, stoves, bowdrill sets. Start a new thread and post a photo of the discontinued sak/mt for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread demonstrating paracord knot tying

Thanks! I prefer carbon, too. I had a carbon one with smooth black plastic handles, back in the '70s.
