Your pic made me wonder...how many scissor users activate with the finger or thumb?  :dunno:

I think I am mostly a thumb user. I might try the index finger or maybe I will revert to both after this challenge, lol. Never really thought about it until now.

Day 3

A little food prep with the straight blade of the MXBS. Nothing too fancy or difficult. The blade cleaned up nicely and the one handed opening blade was convenient. Personally I prefer the standard blade and I have strong enough nails that it has never been an issue opening it. The little tabs don't sit as cleanly in my pocket,  but that is just my personal preference as to why i like the standard versions better.

Well I had good intentions but I’m just not getting around to pics and posting. I think I’m going to be too busy to keep up.  I have been using my Spirit a lot the last several days maybe I’ll get in a few posts later!

Looking good so far  :like:

I cut some zip ties and some ant bait stakes this weekend using the scissors. I think I usually use my finger but I know I used my thumb for these hard plastics for more pressure.  Index finger for precision and thumb for force.   :tu:

Day 3: Out in a supporting role while my son and I worked on a garden tractor.

I seem to keep ending up with older tractors that need a lot of maintenance. It’s a good thing I have a lot of multitools to upkeep them

Tried the scissors on my XBS finger style, lol. Not as comfortable as my thumb,  but will give it more time.

I’m not going to have time to post daily in this challenge, but I do think I can keep the Spirit use up and document some fun projects this month.

In the last couple days we’ve done a lot to the new house.

I was glad to have the Spirit installing the new locks and security system.

The chisel was the most important tool. I had to refit the strike plate and insert for the dead bolt.  Also had to scrape away some of the door molding to fit the security system door sensors.  I did not have any other chisels with me.  Still wicked sharp.  Also used the awl to start pilot holes and Philips screwdriver removing the old locks.

We also had appliances delivered.  I started removal of the basement stair railing last week but had to stop. I could not remove a bolt on the lower portion.  First I used the large flat head to pry up end piece so my Engineers pliers could grab the stopped head and work it as far out as possible. My Spirit file and saw were next to clear a wood riser and weaken the bolt to snap it (it was already compromised needing a little nudge).

Great job GB!  The Spirit is a beautiful multitool but it's a tough one too.  I've carried both the Spirit and the RS and I'd have no issues carrying either one anywhere for any task.

More Spirit work.

Spirit helped with installing dishwasher and cabinets. Cleared out the hole saw, pull out some old broken drill bit piece, removed staples.  Also cut more zip ties and used main blade to cut drain hose length.

Thanks, Barry. I’m glad to have one of these. I’d be frustrated when just a LM unfortunately they just don’t hold up to the Spirit for these level of jobs.

Day 6: In honor of Operation Overlord, 80 years ago today.  This C-47 was rescued from a boneyard, and is reportedly the lead plane of the airborne assault.

Day 6

Just a glamor shot of my XBS. Even though I did not use it today, I do enjoy carrying it knowing that I am ready for most things that are thrown at me.

Some very nice pics Barry and GB!

Love the remodel tasks, GB, and I have used my Spirit in most of the scenarios you describe. Tough MT!
