I think last year we signed up in Dean51 and just put a note in (parenthesis). Don't see any reason to change it. If people are carrying Pioneers, Soldats, etc. that don't qualify for the Dean51, they could post here. I'll probably throw in a few.

Signing up the the Dean51 thread is the way to go. Just be clear to folks that no SAK pics will be allowed in that Challenge thread.

Personally I think it would be cool for the scout challenge to be for traditional scout/camp patterns, without Soldiers or Pioneers as they have had there own challenges in the past. It is totally up to you though  :tu:

I forgot I had this Imperial in my need to clean pile.  Should've taken before pictures.  The tools were nail breakers.

After about an hour's worth of work, I got most of the rust off, and the tools have some snap again.  I might give it a sonic bath, let it dry, and re-oil it.  It has a smaller blade in place of the awl.  I'll re-profile the blades a bit before sharpening them.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

I am wondering ???

Can I do the Scout pattern within the mayo July Anniversary  thread for the Scout Badge as my plans for the Dean51 was to utilize my 3 or 4 GEC knifes for every day.    Complimenting the Scout patterns that may ride along. 🤪
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

You can post a Scout and a GEC in the Dean challenge as there are no rules against carrying multiple Traditionals. You can post any tool or knife in the Anniversary Challenge for the MTo Anniv. badge. You can only get one badge, either the GEC or the Scout badge for the Dean Challenge.

OK, was just thinking!  Since I already had the MTO anniversary Badge.

Would be cool if the MTO badge had a year stamp, then a new badge each year😎

Did we get a badge made for this? I think someone said they were doing one, but if not I can get one together.

Pm Comis, he has done several of the most recent badges, if anyone was to design one he would have been the first contact.

If you did not ask him, then very likely he has not been involved at this time.

It's your challenge so if you can get the ball rolling with Comis we can get it done.

AztecCypher was kind enough to do a pass on a badge. I'm gonna tweak it a little, but I should be able to have it done by the end of the week.

Please pass it on to me for review so I can let you know if it will work.

Thanks

I was actually on a conference call that I didn't need to be on so I got distracted designing it.

I know I have long ago lost track of the actual Boy Scout knife I had back in the day, and somewhere in the "who knows where" department my late sister's Girl Scout knife from the 1950's lurks, but I still have a couple that qualify.  You can see from the lack of polish that these do not get much daily use.  Shown here are, at the top an Imperial Kamp King, missing its bail and the plastic covering the scales you can't see; to the left, an Ulster Boy Scout knife, which violates the original Scout concept by having a Phillips driver, but gets credit for having an actual Scout emblem on it; to the right, another Imperial, this labeled "Scout," and pretty old, I think.  I think it might have belonged to my mother in the 1940's.  And up from that, an imposter of course, but we give Wenger some credit for being at least Scout-ish.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
