DAY 30 (Catch Up)
Due to work/life etc. yesterday didn't happen for me

So here is the catch up post.

For the "Military thing" this is my beret from my time in the Army Reserves (Territorial Army back then) It was a Royal Engineer EOD unit. My beret from my regular Army (Royal Artillery) has long since gone AWOL  ::)

For the "not carried thing" it would be this PoS Pocket M/T that I got from TK Maxx (TJ Maxx across the pond) a few years ago. It is truly awful and that's why I've NEVER carried it. I have found no use for it at awl and I have spent more time putting it back together than using/not using it (see the pic' with the bits on the floor)  :bnghd:

A great challenge from Gary and the mini challenges have been...fun  :dunno:

Well done to awl that joined in and I'll see you on another one  :salute:

Cheers and stay safe out there  :tu:

Seemed ashame to just stop on 30 with July has 31 days.
Big thanks to Gary for hosting the party this year, and to everyone that took part in the "anything goes" party.

Day 31 Bonus Pic

During the challenge, I was playing with tools and knives that I haven't touched in a long time.  I liked playing with my Benchmade Propers so much that I purchase a duplicate so I could carry one frequently and still have my others to keep in pristine condition.  For this daily user, I chose the 318.  I like sheepsfoot blades, but clip points suit me much better for general use  :tu:  I'm curious how the micarta handle wears over use.

I didn't get a day 31 photo, but it sure was a fun challenge. A big thanks to all my fellow challengers for making it great and to Gary for hosting it!

Bonus

After doing a whole month of Scouts, but not being able to carry SAKs, it was nice to be able to tuck this Standard Issue in my pocket today. I have 3 or 4 Pioneers, Soldiers, etc., but this is the one I carry most often. I like the bail, and there's no sentimental value from being a BYSAK or anything. If I somehow manage to lose or  kill it (it'd been through worse than I'm ever likely to before I got it) I wouldn't be too upset to replace it with a regular ol' Pioneer.

Day25:
This electric fence spring got caught in the mower ... What a pain to cut free, even with my Knipex CoBolt S (limiting factor being my hand strength here with the smaller 160mm size)

And it really was

Glad you were able to undo that mess without any undesirable effects!

It was so much wrapped around the blade hub/pivot I was worried of breaking something, but all went well (apart from the electric fence wire and its spring that are now cut into pieces !)

That reminds me that I haven't been fishing in a while.  Need to make time to take the kids before school starts.

That reminds me that I haven't been fishing in a while.  Need to make time to take the kids before school starts.

I hadn't gone fishing in ages, and to be honest I didn't actually fish, but I:
- Prepared the fishing canes,
- Put worms on hooks
- Had to make that hook disgorger out of wood
- Disgorgde like 10 or more with it...
