Played full size one in store, too bulky for my taste, blade is pretty thick.

I'm interested in hearing about the Vulcan as well.  I like the look of them and wonder how they are.  I think the Mini Vulcan would make a nice EDC knife but I need to hear reviews for them first.

The handle is not very well thought out in my opinion, as there are too many semi-sharp edges and protrusions on it.

Also, when the last shipment came in, 2 of these Vulcans proved to be defective because half of the lockbar fell off when opening the knife.(!)
The parts could not be screwed on again because the thread was too short.

Another came back from a customer claiming the VG10 was underhardened, so it didn't keep an edge.
I sharpened it again & tested the newly formed edge on some cardboard: it blunted way too fast in my opinion, so it probably was indeed underhardened.
(That, or i still don't know how to sharpen after an odd 20 years or so, :D)
The customer chose to have another knife.

We had the same experience some time ago with a couple of early SOG Vision Titanium models which had linerlocks.
The ATS34 steel on these also proved to be too soft, and they also could not hold an edge very well, at least nowhere near the same steel in certain Spyderco models.

In short, i would not recommend the knife.

The only knife i find beautiful in the SOG line up is the new SOG Vision with the ARC-lock.
Nice grindlines and a good playfree lock-up.
But of course this is highly personal, and i haven't tested the edge holding yet.

There is a new one for sale on my forum for 175 Euro, which is considered really cheap in my country, as the normal price is a little under 250 Euro.

What is your actual budget ?

I've had a reasonable amount of experience with many SOG folders.

My first thought would be the Tomcat 3.0, however it may be a little out of your price range. Plus it is rather large and doesn't have a pocket clip.

There's also the Topo Meridian. It has a bit of an unusual blade shape though. It isn't bad, but a drop point version is available now. The only other downside is that the handle can be a little uncomfortable.

After looking at all of my knives, I think that the best for you (out of the knives that I have) would be something from the Twitch series. I have the Twitch II and the Blink (which is set apart from the Twitch series only because it doesn't have a flipper on the back to open the blade easier.) The Twitch II is relatively small and the Blink and Twitch I are both smaller, so I would recommend a Twitch XL, which is essentially (obviously) an enlarged Twitch. In fact, I think I may get one sometime. That and the Pentagon II folder both intrigue me... but that's beside the point  :ahhh

Hope I could help!
