Pradel Multitool

Hi all,

Brand new to the forum. I have been scouring the internet for answers on this knife and this seems like a great spot to find some possible answers. Found this knife at an estate sale of a French couple. Thought it was just an old SAK at first but upon further inspection I saw the “Pradel” marking on the main blade shown in the photos. This is the only marking on the entire blade and the rest of the internet does not offer much in the way of history or info so I was hoping some of you would be able to offer any info!

It looks like a customized Pradel French folding knife.  Do a search on eBay for Pradel and you'll see several examples.  Here's one I found.

Many thanks to you two for your comments. It’s nice to have a little confirmation of my findings. Does anyone have any clue on an estimated age for this particular knife?

I don't know much about Pradels but based on what I've read so far,  I'm guessing maybe early 1970's.  But take that with a grain of salt.

Still a good looking multitool regardless of age and a very good buy in my opinion.  Nice addition to any collection.

I agree. I was able to get it for only $5. This one will definitely not be leaving my collection. It has a bit of sentimental value as well as the estate is actually where my wife and I married and she did some work for the couple so we got to know them a little. Really just wanting info so I can talk about it when I take it out of my pocket! lol

I have a very similar one somewhere. I never did find out too much about it though.

It is a very cool piece!

I've perusing eBay for Pradels since yesterday just to see what's out there.  :D

I never really considered myself a collector of multitools. I have a few newer Victorinox’s that friends have gotten me as souvenirs on their travels but my personal collection has always consisted of newer folders and case knives from parents/grandparents. I believe this piece has sparked a curiosity in me for sure!

Thanks again to everyone for your replies!
