@BPRoberts: good thing the Hiker turned up!

@Barry Rowland: I've quit tobacco, but nicotine? Probably never. And I need to get some sawing in.

@Echotech: cool flower pot!

@Fireman: my tape slicing has been drastically reduced. I've only put the recyclables container on the curb once since losing Mrs. FX.

@MTSAK: have a good time at the retreat!

@GA1dad: I could sure go for some good BBQ...

@marlowe221: neat G-Shock! What module is that?

Another great day, y'awl!

Day 13

Lego tiles sometimes slip into bricks. SAK toothpicks are sturdy enough to effectively extract them, and gentle enough that you have no real worry about damage. No action shot, as I had to keep moving with set inventory.

Day 13

Used the tweezers to pop a balloon today. They're actually really good for this. Waving a whole knife around to pop balloons is probably not the safest idea, but it's pretty hard to accidentally decapitate anyone with tweezers. The pin would work too, but old knife...

No uses today but hopefully over the weekend, it’s a very warm 37C (100F) here this afternoon and it’s getting very close to beer o’clock

That's funny. I do this as well. This is possibly my one and only use for the toothpick, to be honest. ::)

Day 14: Used the small screwdriver on the can opener tip to help me get the battery cover off of a remote thermometer, then the cap lifter to remove bark from around the hook to hang it outside.

@BPRoberts: the awl might work for that purpose, too: hold it in T-handle fashion and jab the balloon.

@Echotech: what is your Hiker sitting on? It looks like an mbira or a kalimba, but I'm probably wrong.

@Dane:  You should take some photos and request the Toothpick User badge!

@Fireman: I'm amazed I haven't looked for yellow scales yet...

@Barry Rowland: was the battery cover screwed or pressed on? I'm not overly fond of the latter.

A bit of a quiet day thus far, but y'awl are still doing great!

Day 14

The water filter packaging wasn't going to tear easily. Out came the Hiker.

Day 15

Saturday :woohoo: went for a good walk this morning before it gets too hot 🥵

Walked past the local bakery and thought time for Australia’s national dish, dogs eye with dead horse :D
Also known as meat pie with tomato sauce

Aussies love a pie and when we use the word pie we pretty well always mean meat pie, same in NZ and UK

I know from TV when you guys in the USA think pie you’d think of apple pie or pecan pie etc….which are delicious of course but we’d then say apple pie, pecan pie etc….to us a pie is a meat pie and damn good they are too :)

This one is the solar/atomic clock sync 6900. But they paired it with a 5600 strap for this NASA themed model!

@Echotech: that pie looks pretty good! And can you play the mbira?

@marlowe221: I'm thinking of getting into that career field...

@BPRoberts: I miss having a desktop PC, mostly because I'm sick of babysitting batteries.

@Fireman. I used to have one of those itty-bitty ratchets. Letting it slip away was a mistake.

@Barry Rowland: I imagine Art and Ursula can really put away some food!

We are at the halfway point. Great job, everyone!

Day 15

Time to break out a new roll of nicotine pouches and shorten the wrapper.

Dan, I'm hoping to get my desktop set up again at home soon. Having a full mouse, keyboard, etc. is helpful for a lot of things.

@fx no can’t play it, I’m usually ok at percussion instruments but it requires more dexterity than I’m capable of unfortunately

Day 16
High 30’s again today, didn’t go below 27 last night and I haven’t got aircon, thankfully I do have a cooling fan with built in chiller. As much as I love the sun I’m looking forward to it cooling off a bit
