LEATHERMAN FREE P2 AND P4 DISCONTINUED?

Is this true?
Yo go to their website and says that both tools are not available now and there is a link that says that both tools are being sold directly thru their Amazon store...???

Sent a P2 for repairs and got an email saying that thw toll cannot be repaired and offering me a Wave Plus as a replacement????
It was only a broken file...

What is going on with Leatherman???

Seems like Leatherman is really messing things up by unable to repair P2. sign seems to tell that those are going to be discontinued but still not official. Offering Wave+ for P2 is kinda lame replace if you ask me.

It depends what country you’re in.

In the UK, warranty has always been replacement only, not repair, and they seem to have a limited range of tools available.

Is this the same case that’s been posted on Reddit? The picture on there shows a broken blade tip that could be sharpened out, rather than losing the P2 for a Wave+.

I thought the Free tools also had 25 year warranty.  :think:
Most tools are the same on the Arc. Why can it not be fixed?

Some of the tools on the P2/P4 are unique like the awl and small file. Also the blades on them are 420HC and not Magnicut.

So then, replace an implement with something similar from the Arc set. Why give back an entire different tool, that cost less? :think: warranty is supposed to fix or replace with something of equal or higher value. Wasn't the Free more than the Wave Plus?

I wish I had sent my P2 in. Snapped the blade a while baxk. This is kinda ridiculous considering the P2 was more than the Wave

   The Wave+ replacement offer might be a peculiarly British issue.  I would contact Leatherman about a busted P2 if I lived in the USA.  Best wishes. G :cheers:
