I keep running out of collection storage room. A while back I was forced to buy 2 plastic 5 drawer storage units because my new additions were relegated to populating cardboard boxes. I bought these plastic storage units because they fit in between 2 more collection storage units...and I thought I had staved off the ever creeping storage blues.
Well a while ago, I noticed a definite lean to the 2 units. I am not sure why, but I had neglected the weight of the ever growing collection of knives, multi-tools, etc. The plastic unit was never designed to hold such weight. I realized I would need to keep my eye out for something more durable.
I looked high and I looked low but couldn't see anything that might work. Then one day, the local Princess Auto had a sale of plastic ammo containers of a good size. They even stacked which was perfect for what I had in mind. I bought 8 of them and I think this should be great to replace the 2 plastic drawer units, especially seeing that the plastic frames are bending and warping.
Here is a photo of one of the 5 drawer plastic storage units. They were stacked one atop the other, but once I noticed the damage, I took the top unit off an placed it on the floor.

Here are the 8 new replacement storage containers. These have sturdy handles, are built of far more durable and thicker plastics, etc. For now, they are stored in my little gun room to stay out of the way until transfer time.

I believe this will work out brilliantly.
