I'm finally getting the tools loosened up a little on my Bond.  I am about ready to take the duct tape off the knife blade.  Tried to post this picture by phone and couldn't.  Best wishes.  G

Bond and Ruff Rida. I open and close the Bond now and then. Either the Bond is loosening up some or the exercise is making me stronger. Could be both.
Best wishes. G

Nice picture!

The BONDs must be assembled on or near the REBAR LINE, they arrive tight too!

On one of mine the blade handle tools are very tight yet!

I appreciate you making the weekly visit to join me on BOND ay!   I still think it is a great tool with good function for worldwide citizens.   Non locking and under 3” blade.

Thanks.  Reminds me of the PST-2 a lot.  I noticed the owner of the local ACE branch carries a LM all the time at work.  He told me he used to be a contractor and had another Leatherman.  He fell victim to leaving the thing around where people could see it and one of his workers 'probably' scarfed it.  He was carrying his second one.
The parking lot of this place is always packed.  There is an ACE and a place that sells quality boots and some other stuff.  The stores are empty of customers in spite of the packed parking spaces.  Lots of work crews park there, have some breakfast across the street, then leave on their work trucks.  Vehicles stay parked in the ACE lot all day.  It's a nice store, but just no cash register ringing.  Eventually that puts an end to things.  Best wishes.  G

Need to post a Bond photo.  I like the blade shape chosen for the Bond.  Maybe they chose that shape to keep the point lower in case of inadvertent blade shifting problem.  It is good anyway.  Best wishes.  G

Monday Bond-ay

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

My kitchen BOND greeted me on the counter this morning. The pliers assisted me in freeing a chicken leg from its security store package as I needed a snack :woohoo:

And, as GARY mentioned the blade on the BOND is functional, and very similar to the new WAVE ALPHA, but about 75% less

It's a mystery to me.  Every tool in my Bond was stiff as a board except the file.  File was nice and loose and ready to.... well, file I suppose.  The tang of the blade is built like a cam, so it doesn't have to be pushed shut.  It snaps shut by itself.  Evidently tight Bonds are a common complaint.  Mine is loosening up some.  Best wishes.  G

I found the same on mine!

Studied it, and then studied it some more.
I observed that the blade handle’s back spring was tight against the tools cams the entire travel roll. With the blade cam being slightly larger it had the most tension pressing on it.

To help relief the tension, I used the theory that the backspring needed some relaxing.   I wedged a piece of steel between the tools rollers and the backspring, so that there was only a hairs gap between the backspring and knife cam. Then left it overnight, or longer.   Thought about adding heat, but decided against.

The next afternoon I had tension on the blade and the remaining tools deployed easier.

The file side seemed to work better after some lube was added and I fiddled with deploying implements why watching a scary movie.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

My first Monday Bonday photo, I believe.

It’s neither a good picture of a Bond nor a good picture of a truck, but as they’re very different sides tools, you have to compromise somewhere.

Today was the second day of my HGV training in the UK, and after reversing on Friday, they let me drive forwards today.

The truck was a very nicely done metallic pink with flecks of silver.

Pleased to report I didn’t remove any paint while driving it.

A pretty paint job.

HGV training!   Heavy Goods Vehicle training😎

New career path?
Straight rig or articulating?

I do like the BOND,, it is reflecting the trucks color or is it blushing.  Either way awl is GOOD!

Welcome to BONDay and congrats on day two of HGV training.  Backwards and now forward. Next is ???

Thank you both.

There’s a bit of a driver shortage here due to a combination of retiring drivers, Brexit, etc, so Covid was used as an excuse to change the rules.

Rather than passing a test in a rigid, then another for an artic, you can now go straight from a car licence to an artic with one test. (One set of tests, at least. There are three theory tests, reversing test, driving test, and a practical test on safety, loading, and checking for defects.)

First MONDAY BONDay in October :woohoo:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

My daughter surprised me with a delivery from COSTCO, this LM SIDEKICK is apparently only available via online presently we learned last SUNDAY after I joined her after lunch there to search for this. Present price in the new color is even less than LM’s online. 😜

I do enjoy having my BOND w/pocketclip for easy carry, another in kitchen drawer, and a third is now in route to the mothership for warranty, a very wobbly blade (1st gen) (auction site is providing bargains yet) 😎

Maybe could be the correct response at times.  Suppose eight-year-old me wanted to know, "Should I try to kiss Mary Lou Metzger while she is playing on the swings?"  Maybe if my girlfriend Rhoda isn't watching.  Maybe if the swings aren't moving.  Don't want to lose a tooth.

Just got back from washing a truck load of clothes.  Leaf lookers are thick on the roads.  Heated up some leftover black-eyed peas.  Mmmm.  I didn't have any corn meal in the house Saturday, but I did have a bag of Masa Harina.  I figured corn is corn, right?  Eggs, baking powder, salt, butter, sour milk.  The more liquid I added the thicker it got.  I gave up on making a batter and shoveled it in a pan.  Twenty minutes.  Not brown.  Thirty five minutes still didn't brown up.  I took it out and tried a little.  It wasn't poisonous, but still not corn bread like I usually bake.  Nothing goes to waste around here.  All cooking flubs are just victuals for the fur-bearers.  They voted two claws up.  Licked the plate clean.
Best wishes,
Gary
