Tang stamp on cap lifter
on: September 04, 2025, 06:47:11 PM
Has anyone seen such tang stamp on a victorinox knives? It's a regular tinker, but this is the first time I've seen a tang  on a cap lifter. It looks like an engraving, not a stamp.

I'm seeing 54122 listed as an old model number for Tinkers with Cub Scout emblems. 1909 is the year Victorinox officially trademarked their name, logo, etc. No clue beyond that, but it's a cool find.

Looks like someone in the past removed the original Cub Scout blue scales to replace with classic red ones....

Nice find

Fascinating - Rings a small bell in my memory ..... Maybe FB's post

The 54122 looks like a US format model number - We have them against several of the SAKs in SAKWiki

Thanks all for responding 😊. The 54122 is US format model number, that's clear for me, but 2nd part of number it's date? If somebody have same knife please share the photo to compare the tangs.

Did you check out FB's link?  ??? There is a bit of chat about it there.

Hers was stamped with the same product code - but 1702 - So a bit more puzzling.

Have you tried Elsinox's blog site - Lots of tang information there - The is a link in the Wiki Links page.
Or maybe your fellow countryman LeaF, here at MTo - He is a guru and avid collector.
