Personal update,,

As most of you know I have a seizure disorder, I’ve had them since I was 2, by the time I hit 12 I had my first grand mal, yet everything was controlled by rx’s but then in 08 things got funky and I had my accident, a few years ago the Mrs started her act, ever since we had those covid boosters, and as time went on things got worse and worse, two years ago she was in the hospital and ended up having two seizures that stretched over 25min each, the 2nd she ended up having to be resuscitated, anyway, we were seeing a neurologist, heck we were going in once a month, yet we’d be seen for like 5min then kicked out then a week before our appointment we saw him on the news, come to find out he was drug trafficking and was arrested, the funny thing was his computer even called to remind us we had an appointment, but his place was shut down ,, so the Mrs found another neurologist, one who I actually been to before, so knowing what happened they excepted me and saw me, and when they did the Mrs talked to him wondering if he would except her, so he did and today was our appointment, the one lady had a cancelation so before even seeing her he sent her over to have an EEG(where you don’t do anything and they glue wires to your head) and well after 7min she ended up having a seizure, she got one wire unhooked but the nurse and I had her under control, after another 15min of testing she was done and got to see the doc, he was so willing to work with her, he ordered her for some more test, they would have done one of them today but all this time the kids been sitting outside in the car since neither of us can drive, he’s our only means of transportation,, and he’s got work later so we had to make it later on, the nice thing is we don’t have to be seen every month, it’s every three months, the way it should be, but they want to work with her and see what’s making her tick! He actually found one of her MRI’s and noticed she had a pressure build up on her brain and said it’s probably the cause of her migraines, but prob not the cause of seizures, so we’ll see,, at least the docs working with us, heck the last doc she even had multiple seizures when under testing and all he said was “she has seizures” and? Notta! He’d put her on a rx’s and nothing, anyway, at least this neurologist is doing what he can to get her back up and running, which would cut back on my stress which would also cut back on my seizures,, and to top this all off, tomorrow is our wedding anniversary, married for 26yrs! Ahh I need to relax, hope everyone else is doing good,,

I don't have any experience with seizures, but switching from a drug trafficking neurologist to one who isn't sounds like a move in the right direction. And a new set of eyes might also have different thoughts and ideas to help. I sure hope it can improve the situation because that sure does sound both serious and beyond stressful.

Thank you all, we looked up what the doc said he saw on the MRI and the side effects said, depression, dizziness, attitude, and BALANCE! All the effects she has! She used to go for multiple walks everyday by herself, now I have to hold her and make sure she doesn’t fall just walking outside or to the car cause there’s nothing to hold onto, so maybe if the doc works with her she can get everything back? Fingers crossed!

That we’re not too sure of, she has to go under more testing to get a more accurate result, but they did give her a special rx that is for headaches but a totally diff type, how do I say, it’s not suppose to relieve the pressure but it’s suppose to dampen the pressure, kinda like the snap on a new sak, that back spring has so much tension(pressure) but rather then bending the back spring to take the pressure off you put some cotton under the blade so it doesn’t snap as hard, did I make it understandable? But thank you,,

As for the rest, well, hopefully this new doc will make some progress that the other one wasn't.  If nothing else, at least it's a new perspective.

Thank you, I just posted over on the Victorinox letter, her and the kids are the only thing longer then being a member, speaking of, they were talking across the room at each other and she’s right next to me and I have no clue what I was going to freaking type ,, oh, duh, just talking with the doc yesterday took a BIG weight off of both of us, and that had a BIG effect on the seizures on both of us!

Oh man, that dinner was just OMG good two big pieces of chicken parm, but only a small amount of spaghetti, but also had some calamari, and a turtle cheesecake, oh I was sooo stuffed! The Mrs and kid had some trio’s, but I didn’t pay attn, I just wanted my meal, lol..
   As for the Mrs, she got her rx yesterday but didn’t take it till today, it did lessen her migraine but then about 3hrs later it came back and even worse, of course it didn’t help when both the dogs started barking like crazy because there was a dog walking across the street, not once, not twice, but three times, so she wasn’t doing to good but things calmed down,, oh well, I better call it a night, the kid just came home from work, night everyone..

Now the Mrs looked up her test results from the other day and according to the neurologist he said she’s not epileptic, even though she had the seizure right then and there on the test, heck even the other wacko neurologist said she wasn’t epileptic after she had multiple seizures during EEG’s, so she’s a little off today, she even had one yesterday, the kid came in when she was finishing up and spoke with her even though she had no clue who or where she was, then she came around and he went back to his room, only thing is there’s no point in talking with her cause in 30min she will have no clue as to what she saw or spoke of, thus why I take my time, cause when in 30min I asked her when she saw the kid last and she said earlier in the morning, not the 30min ago..  but today I got her up and moving and got her to go for a walk to get things moving around,,

I absolutely hate doctors, but have come to realize that they're a necessary evil.    I certainly hope that your new doctor can finally give y'all some answers as well as relief.

Thanks guys, sorry I didn’t post earlier, my heads just not there, she’s had a few, I had one right after her, the one day, her seizure was diff then normal, it’s as if she’s changing her style, and this ime when she came out of it, it was as if you started some crappy tape decks, eeeerrooonnn, “oh by the way what are we having for dinner”? Like what the heck?? So then she looks at me and then says “what”? Oh and yeah I got it all on video! But not the next part, I told her right then and there I wanted a divorce, and she like “huh”, in five min I asked her what I said, and she’s like what are you talking about, you didn’t say anything, I asked the same thing at 10min, 15min, and again at 20, she then remembered I told her she had a seizure, so now I might as well tell her everything since she is now remembering, show her the video, ask her from what she remembers, the last thing she remembers was what we were watching on tv, right to the point, anything 20min after the seizure, forget it! Sometimes like this one she knows everything, others she has no clue who she is, and those take about 5min before she gets a reboot, but after any it doesn’t matter what goes on for the next 20min,, definitely no point on watching tv!
   This pass weeks been rough, just this morning we took showers and all of a sudden the kid came running in the room and is like um dad, the basements flooding, oh great, so I had to crawl in to check the trap and it was flooded, so I stuck a stick into the trap, notta, so I went outside and it’s flooded, yet I walked back downstairs and it’s dry, uh ok, I poured water and everything was clean, so just cleanup.. yet I still had to brush all animals yes all 5, then vacuum the whole house, like aahhh,, I needs a break.. another reason I haven’t gotten to that storage strap thingy,, sorry,

Oh this is not a good week, that time she fell in the hallway she actually cracked her tooth and luckily she got an appointment with the dentist today, yesterday our neighbor needed a hand to push his car in the garage because he was working on the engine and it started raining, so he called me to see if I could help, sure enough I helped push the car in, but then I asked what was wrong, come to find out he was cleaning the air throttle inlet, and he used a tire valve to hold it open but it fell in, like OMG you nut, but the dumber part was that he was using a magnet stick to try to get it out, um, it’s rubber with a brass valve, um neither are magnetic I couldn’t see anything, so I ran back to get my glasses and a real flashlight, he was using some plug in nightlight/flashlight, it had no umph, anyway, I asked if he had one of those idk what there called, flexible rod with a mechanical grip? Anyway, I used the magnetic stick to scoop the valve so I could reach in with the other and grab it, I had it out within 5min, he just couldn’t believe it,
   Anyway, I came home and took care of the dogs then had dinner, yet before bed I went to the bathroom all to to find the Mrs fixing the shower curtain, I was like what happened, she was mad, I helped her to find out that the one curtain was ripped, come to find out I had a seizure and fell into the tub taking both curtains down, ripping the one and also knocking soap and shampoos down, needless to say this morning I got up and my back is even worse then before,, this is sooo not my week!

I call 'em "mechanical fingers." Though I'm sure there's a more proper name for them, it ain't springing readily to mind.

Things could have been much worse than a torn shower curtain. Glad you two seem to be holding up, and remember, you're on the other side of "the hump" by now. Hope the week gets better as it wears on!
