man to just have the money in hand that Bob has in MTs and you'd have another man (me) with as many  :D

Heck, if I didn't invest my money in multitools I'd just fritter it away on hot women and cold booze

Does this even qualify as a multi-tool? Is clock a "tool"? Either way, with this you will know exactly how long your pliering (is that a word?) took  :D

How about a Cabela's 45th Anniversary Legacy PST? Only 500 of them were produced (I have #17.)

I know MultiMat has one (I told him about it), and I just weakened and bought one myself.  Purely because of it's wacky impracticalness   (the fact it was only $25.00 with free shipping didn't hurt !)

I looked for something from this list that might qualify as a rare MT, but none really have that "multi" element to them.  Tool, yes.  Rare, yes. Multi?  Not really.

The Stanley MT/clock was part of a lot of knives on ebay that didn't sell. After the auction ended I offered the seller $25.00 for it and they accepted.  It is only the second one I've ever seen for sale.  As I said earlier, MultiMat bought the first one after I told him about it (it was new in a presentation box and all).

Hello,

I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask my question.

I collect multi-tools and I was able to buy a Leatherman Crunch, which I think is very unique.

My Crunch is unused and dates from 1999. Both date stamps are from July 1999 (0799/0799). I have the original packaging and it is the version with the nylon case, which is in mint condition.

I searched for a long time to find a Crunch from the year it was released. But I didn't expect to find an unused one that also had the same date stamps.

My question to you is, does anyone have a Crunch with earlier date stamps that both have the same date?

And how many Crunchs from the first year do you think are out there that are unused, have all the documentation and original packaging, and have the same date stamps?

I look forward to hearing your expert opinions and hope that some of the professionals here can help me.

Many thanks in advance,

Thomas

What something is worth is what the open market will pay for it.  Check that big online auction site for similar comps.  NOS Crunches aren't unusual, but they aren't common either.  Matched handle numbers aren't uncommon.  Bottom line, if you are trying to value it for insurance, use auction site comps.

Hello Yadda,

First of all, thank you very much for your feedback.

Actually, I didn't really want to know how much the tool is worth. As you already mentioned, I can find that out on the large online platform.

I was more interested in how often the date stamps occur and whether there are many Crunch models that have date stamps before “0799.”

I would also be interested to know whether the nylon case is more common or rarer than the leather case. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about this in my research.

So I thought that maybe one of you professionals might have some more information and numbers about this.

Yadda, thanks for your efforts anyway.

Maybe there is someone else who knows more about the production figures from 1999. I would be very grateful for any information.
