Parker 2013 - unidentified folding knife and MT
on: April 17, 2026, 07:03:51 AM
I just watched the Jason Statham movie Parker (2013) for the first time.  (I'm trying to work my way through all the Parker adaptations)

There is an assassin who only seems to use a folding knife.  Unrealistic albeit cool.  We get one really clean shot of it during a fight.  It seems to be a serrated Spyderco folder with a silver aluminum handle.

Earlier in the movie Jason Statham steals what appears to be a Leatherman from some hunters.  He uses it several times later in the movie.  You never get a great look at it, but I think it might be a supertool of some sort.

Spyderco Police in stainless Steel and my guess, a Supertool 200, seem a little bit like rounded edges on the handle

Yeah, It's definitely not a wave or any of the Leathermans with outside accessible tools.  It looks kinda chunky in one of the shots so I think it is thicker than a rebar.  And the movie came out in 2013, so it was probably filmed in 2011 or 2012, so it would definitely be a tool at least that old.

Yeah, I was surprised.  I like Statham a lot, but he does have about a half dozen very forgettable movies.  I assumed that this would have been one of them because I had not seen it before.  But it's pretty good.  Statham's Parker is not nearly as good a Mel Gibson's take on the character, but it's a fun movie.
