Calling Martin, hello Martin.
on: March 16, 2009, 05:43:15 PM
In today's SAK haul I found this Sportsman...

Its been lightly used but its had a very good scrub  and a bit of oil and polish and is good to go.

So the first Martin (first or surname) to shout gets it.  Doesn't matter where on the planet you are  :tu:

How's this for a bit of (possibly even correct) trivia.

I believe that may be the Martin logo (as in French Martan), manufacturer of casemaker machines. They are used for turning corrugated "card"board into cardboard boxes and often printing the outers as part of the process.

I bought such a machine once and it cost £1.4M and a further £600k to install it. Not with my own money obviously.

Then again, it could be someone called Martin  :P
I used to come here a lot.

It looks like a logo for a company rather than an individual.  Individuals rarely laser etch the blade.

Still, I have gone through about 20 pages of images on Google after searching "Martin logo" and haven't seen that marking anywhere.
