Thats incredible, can you replace the sheeps foot with the saw now or do you have to sacrifice the saw to do this mod?

Are you familiar with the individual backspring fingers on the Spirit? Each one is matched to the thickness of the blade it goes with. And the sheepsfoot blade is half a millimeter thicker than the saw blade.

So for that reason the saw blade cannot be put into the sheepsfoot blade's position. :(

Also, when you close the saw blade it "stops" against a small ledge on the plier pivot bracket. Whereas the knife blade has a stop built into the blade itself, and so there is no stop-ledge at the knife position.

(hope that makes sense)

Awesome Bob!!

Very nice work.    Victorinox doesn't make things like that very easy with the backspring setup.

Hope you get a good grind on it soon (and then make me one!! :D)

We all know you want to offer kits for this. You know, just the necessary bits for us to do it ourselves. Hey, what's that? It's official, hell just froze over as verified by wee people riding flying pigs. :D

After a couple of half-hearted attempts to put the final grind on this blade myself, I finally gave up and took it to a professional. :salute: Sharpening a dull blade I can do, but putting an entire edge on from scratch is not a job for ameteurs. Fortunately the folks at Rapid River Knife Works came to my rescue

Thanks again Mike!!
