I tested several multitools' can openers, by opening 3 cans of food with them.

 :pok: and??

What I had for testing was limited, but I'll give you the rundown.

Tested: Husky 14-in-1 Multitool, Sheffield 1200E, SOG Powerlock, Leatherman Wingman

Loser: SOG Powerlock. It works, but badly. I stopped half way through a can and switched to the next, it was so annoying.

Middle of Pack: Husky and Wingman. Both worked as advertised, nothing terrible, but nothing to write home about.

Winner: Sheffield 1200E. It made very swift and easy work of the can, compared to the others listed.

I was only intending to try out the Leatherman, but pulled out a bunch of others for some side-to-side, and... wow, got a bit of a surprise about both the Powerlock and Sheffield.

It should be noted that the Husky and Leatherman have a can opener that look virtually identical. The SOG has one more in the Victorinox style. The Sheffield's looks like this...

I have another Sheffield, a 12010, which is a 2oz keychain version, with a miniature version of this can opener. It still works, but with severely limited function. I would rate it as worse than the Powerlock, but loads better than using a blade and a rock to punch through.

I used the awl on my Vic explorer to ream a hole in an aluminum spacer that mounts on a door latch.  It worked really well, I was actually surprised how well it cut.  Really easy to use too.

Multitool used: Leatherman bit kit

I had a flat on my bicycle tire and I used one of the cards that comes with a leatherman bit kit which holds the bits together as a little plastic pry bar to take off and put on the tire while I changed the tube.  I didn't want to use anything metal because that could damage the tire/tube and the rounded shape of card at the bottom is perfect putting on and taking out tires.

If anyone else tries to do this though, be careful because the plastic is rather thin and it felt like it could crack at any moment when I was doing it.

I used my Blast to take apart a nightlatch from the outside in order to get a guest back in their room.  They had thrown the latch and then walked through the adjoining door to the other room and just shut it behind them.  They were thrilled that I could get them in so easily.

Used the flat phillips on a mini-leatherman to take the cover of old Mom's CD player.  Found nothing wrong mechanically so it must be electric, and self bamboozled.  Radio only, Ma !

I doubt I would fix my wife's belt if the problem was her pants kept dropping.  :D

Used the tweezers on the Style CS to take out one plastic "pipe-like thing" which... wraps three button-cell batteries before they go into a flashlight... so I'd taken out that whole thing and tried to put it in another flashlight... but the latter one turned out to be too narrow and the three batteries, together with their plastic tube, got stuck ... so I used the tweezers to catch that plastic thing and pull the batteries out.
Then I had to take the batteries out of the plastic tube itself, but as it's too long & narrow, my fingers couldn't do the job... so I used the philips screwdriver as sth to pull them with :D Then I used the tweezers for my personal... needs, lol. Then used the scissors to cut the top of an empty carton from milk as I needed sth box-like ... omg, shall I continue? I think I can't live without a multi tool. :D:D

I went to a gathering today. there were a lot of children in a back yard, digging in the dirt. In the process, they dug up about 2 feet of root, that was sticking up; a little dangerous because there were very young children running about, and it was kind of pokey. Saw on my Wave cut it off quickly.

I just used my Sheffield 12010 to replace the wireless card in my laptop.

The Good news: replacement was swift and easy.
The Bad News: it didn't fix the problem. Still no wireless. :(

Today I used the knife on my tool to open one tough nylon package of 12 bottles of coke in the hypermarket and take two for myself... :D Plus, of course, the scissors later, to open a bottle of.. vinegar... lol. And of course the tweezers... btw, I think the philips screw-driver can work as a nail-cleaner, too...  Anyway, all so girly stuff... :D

Found a cabinet that was thrown out on the side of the road.  Didn't need the cabinet, but wanted the magnetic strips that keep door closed.   I used the philips bit driver on my skeletool to take out the magnetic strips and left the cabinet on the side of the road.
