Estate sale buy today. Proto, Snap-On, Plomb, Thorsen, Herbrand, Vulcan, Indestro, and Craftsman. Made in India set of Crowfoot  wrenches and a three piece Alden racheting wtench set. Great buy. These fill a lot of holes.  I'm very happy with this buy.

The last two weeks I've lucked into Proto wrench purchases at estate sales.  This week's buy was four large wrenches the largest 1 5/8.  I don't have a personal need for them or a work need, but I don't often see five pound 23 inch long wrenches so I bought it.   :D The photo show my current larger Proto wrenches, the 1 5/8 wrench and a 1 1/4 SK wrench I also picked up.

Some recent finds

While in Portland Oregon this week I hit a few pawn shops. Scored my wife a Kate Spade watch, me a G-Shock, a Leatherman and a 20V Craftsman jig saw. The jig saw was $10 without battery, but I already have plenty of batteries to fit it. Used it this morning, so I guess it has paid for itself already.

At the fleamarket I picked up a non-working Elgin wrist watch from 1950/51 for the huge price of $1.00. Also an older non-working Medana pocket watch. One of my favorite finds yesterday is the vintage double reed harmonica. It is marked 1926. Not sure if it's really that old but since it is not assembled with screws, and it has wooden chambers,,, it might actually be that old.

That Proto/Plomb box is getting quite heavy.  Probably 60+ pounds.   That 1 5/8 wrench was too big.  It will probably become a wall hanger.  I use the Estatesale.net  app.  I use the pics and descriptions to locate tools I might want.

I purchased this Matco punch and chisel set at an estate sale this weekend.  It was full of punches and chisels.  I didn't have much time, so I took a flier, hoping the contents were all Matco. When cleaning them, I found 12 Matco, 6 Snap-On, one each Craftsman,  Blue Line, and a 1/4 Allen wrench turned down to make a punch.  Not bad for $8. The Snap-On punches have a little pitting, and a few punches in both sets have tips that need to be reprofiled

Thanks

Currently it is not running. It feels as if it is wound to the max. Shortly I will open it up and release the spring tension and see what happens then. More pictures to come.

Thanks! The guy pricing stuff in the garage was hit or miss. The set was filthy and rusty.  He took a look at it opened it up, let it lie there and slapped an $8 price tag on it.

A few weeks back I needed one of these impact tools while working on my wife's car. I wound up struggling to come up with an alternate method to achieve the task,,,, but boy did I struggle. So yesterday when a flea market seller gave me a price of $5 for this Craftsman unit,,,, I didn't hesitate. I also picked up this Vostok Komandirskie watch. It is in good working order with only a couple of light scratches on the crystal.

UK peeps - Do you tend to find much in the way of SAKs and general knifey things at car boots these days... or is it all rusty gardening tools, hand-crafted coasters, artisanal fruit preserves, and plastic tat from when they had a baby 15+ years ago?
