Wagner or Victorinox?

(Image removed from quote.)

They went to a lot of trouble to knock it off. The blade is stamped Victorinox. Isn't Wagner a large Swiss pen manufacturer?

Actually, I stand corrected; I was misremembering the SmartKnives page on it. o.o;  I'll edit my original post. :)

According to SmartKnives, it a fairly uncommon/rare piece.

This is my latest thanks to Coloswiss.

It is a wenger but I don't know any more than that, so if someone can enlighten me that would be great. I cannot make my mind up as to what to do with the blade. Keep it as it is ( cut with a v at the tip or take some of the metal off the back to give it the correct shape again. Any thoughts?

I love the look of the old can opener.  It just looks mean and tough to me.  Nice knife.

Just received this. Don't have a specific name for it, but basically it's a short 84mm version of the old Woodsman.

Been looking for these for several years. Finally found a dealer on French ebay who'd take Paypal and ship to the US.

It seems like your SAK is NOT a woodsman , because the woodsman HAS a magnyfying glass and small Philips screw driver
http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Woodsman+91mm
But I think it may be a 84mm hunstman

Please correct me if I was wrong

Probably a Huntsman - Small; the 84mm Fieldmaster - Small was also known as the Artisan or Craftsman, so actually, it might be a 84mm Craftsman with corkscrew.

From SAKWiki For Woodsman...
Quote
NOTE: The name Woodsman has been used for several models at different times, and maybe differently in different markets.
.....
The 91mm Woodsman / Huntsman Variation was an earlier model and is very similar to the current Huntsman.

From SAKWiki For Huntsman...
Quote
The Woodsman was an early model with the same basic tools, but without the toothpick and tweezers. This earlier version pre-dates the hook and the sewing eye. The name Woodsman has since been reused for different models.

The early Woodsman (17-012) had a small clip blade and a bail. The later Huntsman (17-015)(1.3713) had a small spear blade and a key ring.

Latest from the mailman today.   4 pioneers and 3 bantoms.  All destined for my modding bench.

This was the last of my knife orders, now I'm just wating for brass rod to get started modding.

Cheers!

No problem. Trying to keep track of SAK models will give you grey hairs.

The key ring was introduced in 1968, but some models were offered with the bail for four or five years afterwards. Victorinox probably went to the name Huntsman for the new knives to distinguish between the two versions.

These are not part of the Wenger Blaze Orange series. Instead they're part of a special run of orange-handled Rangers that apparently are only available in Germany.
