Sneak peek of what I just won. I'll need some help identifying year once I get it and can take better pics.

YES. Another one I've been wanting. Craftsman. Old style metal file. Non-Plus scales.

Looking at it again it seems to be an early model Ranger with camping scales :o Well according to SAK Wiki  It doesn't have the scaler of the Craftsman and has a corkscrew instead of the Phillips driver and lacks the hook and the chisel :tu:

That's a good one, I like those camping scales, and I like the Ranger more than the actual Camper model.

I have had an old Camper for several years and it resided in one of my Winter coat's for a couple of winters :D It is nice but I like scissors on them as well :tu:

Got an odd one in a couple of days ago (along with a red Camper). It's a camo Tinker but it started out life with black scales which were hand painted into a woodland pattern...notice the black edges and black shield background.

Forgot to post it here.....

When your parents only give you enough allowance to buy 1 SAK and Vic releases the camo scales just after you've made your black tinker purchase.

Got a used Craftsman that had the new file.  The blade is scuffed up but came with a paper-cutting edge.

The Craftsman really is one of the most efficient toolsets Victorinox makes (made? ).  It isn't *that* much smaller than the Champ, but it feels a lot more svelte.

Edit: the blade looks much worse in the picture than it is.  It is scratched up but has a great edge and doesn't seem to have been ground down.  Just scratched up.

The quick way to check is the reg camos (at least the 5 I have) have a screened on shield, my painted one has an inlaid SS shield like a regular SAK.  :2tu:
