Mod.135faU from 1950s. Not bad for it’s age but needs some work.

A favourite pattern of mine made up on the 84mm frame.

I put together the silver one. A kind forum member made the red one for me. He used brass liners which go so well with the red scales and his peening is far superior to mine.

Many thanks to Myron for sourcing all the parts for me and numerous trips to the post office to post off bits and send the finished knife to the UK.

Today‘s impulse buys. Even the blade edges of the bo swisstool are black  ??? will be useless until they‘ve been adjusted on the sharpener.

Fantastic!    What a beautiful pair of SAK's.   It was my pleasure to be even tangentially involved in this project.  :)

I got today this Spartan with Buffalo horn scales. By far my oldest SAK, but I struggle a bit with a dating.

With the usual dating resources, the Victoria tang stamp put it 1957-1973, the exposed rivets pre 1957, the awl 1961+, alu tweezers, clip point small blade, 5 turn corkscrew pre 75, but there is no PAT on the opener so1980+??

Any expert input on the dating? Thanks for any help!

In January this year my wife and I were on a vacation in the Dutch Caribean, on the beautiful island Aruba.
While walking along the boulevard I saw in the shop window of one of the souvenir shops three different Vic pocket knives: A SD, a Spartan and a Super Tinker. All knives had this nice "Aruba' printing. Prices were rather outrages (the Super Thinker was around $ 100 as far as I can remember), so I decided not to buy., which I later on regretted.
Two weeks later my wife was looking for a particular clothing store she had seen before, but couldn't remember where. So we split up looking for this shop and we agreed to meet again at a junction. Well, I couldn't find the clothing store and decided to go the souvenir shop to buy one of the Vic's. As I stood in front of the shop window I noticed that all but the Super Tinker were already sold. Gone from the shop window! What a disappointment! So I made a picture of the remaining knife and moved on, looking for my wife.
However, at the same time my wife was IN this souvenir shop, buying the 'Aruba' SD and Spartan. The shop keeper already had taken the two pocket knives out of the shop window and was packing them as a gift. My wife saw me coming toward the shop and hide under the counter! When we met again, she told me that she also couldn't find the clothing store and so we moved on.

SUPRISE! Last week was my birthday + retirement and so she gave me two presents... from Aruba, with love. :o :D

Dude, c'mon! A woman forgetting a clothing store, really?!

Still, great of her to get you the SAKs. Enjoy!

Thank you, it is beatiful. My pictures don't do any justice to the scales - I can't capture their depth and shine.
