My SwissTools feel a bit more dresses.

I just received the SwissTool corkscrew and mini driver. I just had to try it out, and it works. This little add-on fits all SwissTool and Spirit models.

Make a tool idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot. Also, Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

That is the only issue with it...you have to carry is separately as far as I know.

As for where I got it...from an eBay seller called Gad-Zooks.

Some SwissTools came with the corkscrew and there's a small pocket in the pouch to carry it.  I don't have one handy as I gave it to my father years ago, but I'm sure someone here can provide a photo.

I'd also like to point out that the first SwissTools that came out had round holes like the silver one in this picture:

No corkscrew allowed!  :D

That's right, it only fits in the newer, non-round holes :)

I have an older one :(

I'm waiting on Tim (felinevet) sending me mine
First time I've ever seen one , but a bit dissapointed that there is no where to store it on the tool itself.

I'm sure I can add a bit of elastic to the sheath and hold it there, but just looking at mine there might be enough room  to fit in inside the sheath (mine worn and loose leather varient)

Wow, you guys are kidding me...
I've had one for the last year and a half. Didn't realize it was such a secret. I keep mine tucked in my wallet. I almost had it slip out of my nylon pouch. I have one of the thicker ones, where you can store the L-wrench and bit kit and there is room for it to wiggle out.
On a side note, just to vent a pet peeve...
Hey Victorinox! Quit using velcro on your damn sheaths. Use a nice snap like you do on the "economy" nylon sheaths that come with the swisstools or zermat line. One, the velcro wears out way to fast. And two, unless I just got a crappy one, they don't work worth squat. I used my awl and made a small hole under the metal inlay on the flap. Then threaded a thick black hair tie with a split ring (to have something to hold on to) thru the hole. Now when I close my sheath I just pull the hair tie "loop" down and over the sheath bottom. When I want to open it just reach behind and grab the pull ring. Works fine and doesn't look too ghettofabulous.

Yes, I knew about this for a long time...just got around to getting one to see what all the fuss was about. However, I posted it in here because not everyone would know about it. That is ok, this little add on is sort of a Victorinox SwissTool semi secret in a way.

And yes, I did forget that the older SwissTools would not accommodate the corkscrew.  :salute:

I have a sheath (or pouch) that accomodates both my Spirit and a flashlight. On the back there is a little pocket. There lies the mighty corkscrew. Which, by the way, works great. :tu:

Here. Not the best pictures I've taken in my life, but you get the idea.

On the pouch it says 'GOLLA, mobile lifestyle'. I don't know who Golla is and I'm one of those whose lifestyle isn't exactly 'mobile', but since it was cheap and apparently well built, I thought it would be great as a sheath for my Spirit. Sneaking from the little pocket in the back, you can see the mighty corkscrew, tweezers and toothpick, in a tiny plastic bag.

Golla is a Finnish company. They make cell phone, lap top and other various "personal electronics" carry items.
I used to have one of their pouches for my cell phone, but gave it to my mom as it fit her needs better than mine. And truth be told I wasn't too crazy about a cell phone around the neck.
Most of them are in hideous, jarring bright colors but a few models have a version in a civilian cammo pattern. On the outside. The inside of my pouch was a yellow so bright my eyes bled.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

Mine (on the inside) is... pink. Pink velvet. :sa: But I kinda like it. :D

You're welcome.
Yes, it's funny, but I dig it too!  :ahhh :D

I had a black Golla pouch a few months ago, same shape, but the back got pierced by the corkscrew itself. And then, through that tiny hole, the corkscrew had slipped out and it got lost. That is the reason why I use a plastic bag to carry it, along with the tweezers and the toothpick (which, I admit, is basically useless, but cool). I must resist the temptation to add a spare AA, a compass, a mirror, some paracord, a sharpening stone... :D
