a book doesn't run out of battery though

True, and the battery in my phone is at the end of it's usable lifespan, but with the amount I read, I was spending a HUGE fortune on books and the shelves to put them on.  Ebooks are much easier.

a books a book, something to hold have etc

and an ebook is nothing

i like books.

Is a book the pages or the information contained within?  I'll take the information, thank you... :P

A fine Bordeax in a plastic bag instead of nice bottle with cork? No, thank you. To me it is not the only 'information' that counts. :P

PS. Just arrived - brand new Bernard Levine's 'Pocket-Knives' - nice real book, hard cover, 80 pages - what a pleasure to turn these real pages!  >:D
Price was an equivalent of about 8 canadian bucks.

i think this is the christmas of the ereader. Seems like our customers are serious about them where in earlier times they were more of a curiousity. We have tons of accessories for them too...leather covers, nylon in all colours, and the like. And the prices for the readers have never been lower.

Contemporary books are still too expensive though :(    On the plus side they really are starting to take off now and the laws of mass production will kick in.  Expect to see readers at $50 in the near future and I predict the price will continue to drop further.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I just got a Droid X about two weeks ago and started using the kindle app while waiting in the hospital today.  I really enjoyed it and can honestly say I may not need paper books any more.  Anyone used a kindle app much?

just installed the Nook color display in our stores.

(Image removed from quote.)

very nice. They should all be made like this. The screen is as nice as any ipad and the price is 249.99. I don't see Kindle coming out with a color screen any time soon as it has a big marketshare on the Kindle app for android, ipad, i-touch and other devices. It's cheaper to deal in software for devices than the device itself. Let someone else worry about the device i guess.

I still prefer e-ink for long periods of reading...

I just bought my wife a nook 3G a couple of months ago, and she loves it.  It's nice for me too, because I can read with her account on any of my notebook or desktop computers.
