I worked a mixture of afternoons and overnights for 3 years.  Once a week I had to do a turnaround shift, I would work an overnight and get off at 8am, go to sleep immediately and wake back up around 1 or 2 to be back to work at 3 pm until midnight.  I usually had the next day off.  Occasionally  I would have to work a double going into that or coming out of it.  I was working Hotel Security.  When I joined this forum I was working mainly overnights and I spent a lot of time here and at EDCF.

You will definitely love afternoons more!

I don't hate my midnights but this shift came open and they ask me to move up and I told them no but then decided I would. See where I work I was the shift supervisor for a year for another company doing the same thing. Now I'm a nobody doing the same job I was before but getting paid more now. I was told that when my supervisor leaves I will be moving back into lead roving supervisor position. I told them I'm not interested but was told I wouldn't have a choice. I hate being 23 and supervising much older people.

I feel your pain.  The job I just quit this fall was a very large promotion.  I was a Supervisor before it so I had been supervising these guys, but at 26 yrs old I was promoted to Department head over three departments and 21 employees.  7 of those employees were over 60 and had 30+ years more experience in our field than I did.  I was shown a ton of respect from all of them, but due to the CEO's young stupid nature(he's 33 and runs the whole company because Daddy gave it to him) I had to quit.  I am still in management now at my new company but I have no direct reports.  I love it!

I got my present from Longbow! I always thought I wouldn't like the Buck multitools, but I really like this essential. Thank you very much! The pin was a cool bonus too  :tu:

Some Of Bucks Knives Are Nice As Well.
And Their Tools Seem Very Useful And Seem Well Built.
But So Do A Lot Of Knives And Tools And Such Lol.

But, I've Been Pretty Impressed By Buck, Though I Own Nothing By Them. Yet.

I agree about Buck as really well made knives as i guess there MT's are as well, if you only ever get to own one buck you need a 110  :tu:

110-112

I Had A 110 Once. Great Knife But It Was A Bit Heavy For Me.

I Decided I May Try To Own A 110 Again But Hopefully I Can Get One Customized.

you could get a Ti handled version, but 110's are meaty but i like a solid feeling knife  :D  :tu: mine is from 1989 and was recently worked on by buck as spring was broke, they did a great job and although cleaned it up did not get rid of all the marks too much, great service from buck,

That Reason Is Probably Why I Carry My Ka-Bar Dozier So Much Cause It's Light Weight But Is A Beast Of A Little Knife Lol. Super Sharp, And I Made It An Awesome Lanyard And Did Filework On The Blade. So It's Definitely A Jessie Knife Lol. My Cousin Liked It And Wanted It And I'm Like "Noooo" Lol.

I tend to agree the 110 and 112 are heavy but they are "Classics". Buck makes a lot of good light weight knives also. I carry a Buck Vantage Pro that I got for Christmas 2 years ago.

BTW has any one see my present out there some where?  ;)

Well the Postie made it thru the rain and hail to deliver the packages this morning and surprise surprise a package from the Netherlands/Holland so yes I have been pooled never had a clue where it was coming from but I am guessing it is from no.26 Jan.

Thank you so much for all the goodies and card you kindly added you have spoilt me completely.
Looks like I will be collecting SAKs in the new year with the little lot !

The added pins also made my day as my scouting hat is full of pins so thanks so much for those as well.

Merry Christmas to you and your family and a very Happy New Year

I think we rename Jan as Jan the Man who Can he sent a wonderful package to me and i think all my Christmas's have come at once the Lighters I forgot to add in there inside the Maxpedition pack both lighters have Santa and merry Christmas on them I will be using them to help create some new lanyards for the SAK he sent to me and the torch which is a really cool one, not seen one of them before but it is a solid built flashlight and a great pocket size.

Many many thanks Jan for a great package of goodies.

The customs said the declared value of the package was 400 Kuna (about £45 or $70) which is way over the allowed no fees limit. My Christmas spirit is fading

On the Customs label the Value means the Value of the Goods in the packet not the including the shipping charge as well as this is nothing to do with the items value.

Most places outside of the US have these customs rules the UK has several different limits depending on what the item is called as long as it is marked gift and value around the $30 mark all is sweet and they very rarely even bother looking at what's inside.

Marking it as a gift is not exactly telling lies as you may have bought it for yourself so it is a gift !

They may send the package back to the sender if it is not collected but this will take several weeks, if they get it back I suggest sending again but get the low down on what the maximum value is allowed for gifts coming into that country and just mark it this, you can even mark it used tool if it is not in a package/clampacked.

All should go well by doing it this way 8)
