If you could only have one....

IF you had to get rid of all your MT's except for one.... which one would you save?

Now you might think of saving something rare... and that's understandable. BUT.......
If it was the ONLY MT you could keep as long as you live, you'd have to make sure it was something you would feel comfortable with actually using. SO what would it be?

Me... I suppose I'd go with a LM Charge TTi.

Nice choice. I would be split between a spirit or a surge. Surge has EVERYTHING but having to carry a separate file (or saw) could be an issue. Leaving behind a tti would probably break my heart.

I'd keep my Original Supertool.  It was my first and I remember the day well back in '98
when I came out of the store and strapped it on.  It might not be the most user friendly
Leatherman out there but if I had to grab one to keep and wear out of the collection this
would be it. :)

I'd have to go with the huntsman.

It's a toss up between that or a farmer, but the huntsman adds scissors and T&T which are both useful. If I could have *two* it'd be a classic and a farmer though.

Multitool only?  I would probably go with a SwissTool RS for utilitarian benefits if it was a Zombia Apocalypse kind of situation.  If it was a "my house is burning down and I'm going to lose everything except this one" kind of situation, I would grab the least replaceable which would probably be this guy:

Although one of the MTO Charges would also be pretty far up the list.

For SAKs, if I could only save one, it would have to be my father's old Champion:

This one not only has sentimental value but would also be very useful, so in either scenario this is what I'd take.

Tricky one - it depends what I'd be doing with the rest of my life  I use different multitools in different areas according to their strengths. I'd not choose one for being rare or such, I'd choose the best tool for the circumstances as I saw them.

If I had no idea what was round the corner - Swisstool CS Plus

If it was a burning house scenario, there'd only be one tool I'd be determined to get out safely - and that's me  :D

Seriously I would probably take my Leatherman Charge Ti. I was torn between the charge and the swisstool spirit, the charge won just because of the one hand opening blade which maKes the charge a defensive offensive multitool.

Of everything, I'd probably take my Work Champ.  It's the only tool I have I feel like would be all I'd need to survive in the wilderness with.  I don't have a Charge, Surge, or any kind of Swiss Tool, so I might think differently if I did.  I'm planning on buying a Charge at some point, so I might choose that instead.

With respect to just a SAK, it'd be my Work Champ for sure.

For an MT, of the ones I currently have, I'd say my Skele-CX.

If it was a "Run! The Zombie apocalypse is upon us!"  I'd grab my Damascus Leatherman Wave.  Why?  It's still a Wave, but there'd be a bit of enjoyment factor from having a beautiful, yet functional MT.  And it's non-reflective so less likely to tip the Zombies.  I'd rather have it and use it, than just abandon it and know someone else is probably using it.

In the house is on fire scenario, I'd grab whatever Leatherman Charge/Wave/Surge or Crunch, Wenger Mike Horne Ranger or Vic Spirit was at hand.  Things can just burn, but if I need a tool to get out or whatever, any of those will work fine.

As for SAK's, it's a toss up.  I would like to think my mammoth Executive could survive with me... :ahhh

...but for pure function, I'd have to grab a Farmer. :(

Can I have 2?

Very interesting thought experiment.

No where in there would I have considered one of my Atwoods.  I'm not sure what that means.  I always have an Atwood in a pocket on the farm, but if I were running from Zombies, would I bring the extra weight?

Good question...

Only one would be a cruel choice to make.   It would be easy for me to pick though. Swisstool RS all the way.

Hey, nobody told me it's a zombie apocalypse scenario!
If that is the case the Charge might be inadequate, would carry the biggest toughest multitool I have the Leatherman MUT blade can reach the brain through the eye socket. But if the machete is considered a multitool will probably take that instead.

Which MT serves my needs so well that I would take it while leaving all my others behind?  That's easy.   My CS4 has been in my pocket every day for 6 years.  I have yet to find another MT that works as well for me.

As for the zombie scenario, my wife says I've been as engaging as a zombie lately, so I guess I am one of them and don't have to worry about how to combat them.

Here you go:

I got the P7 Suspension clip about 7 months ago.  Before that it rested in the bottom of my pocket along with some coins so the blue anodizing is almost gone.

for a zombie apocalypse?

Am I the only zombie hunter who has strategically placed tools in different places (other than home) for a possible scenario?

You know, just so you don't have to face a "just one tool" situation?
