The buttons are actually not that bad- they look worse than they are, or at least that was our experience at the show.  I'm hoping to get a sample soon for testing and evaluation.

I know. With all the design sharing that appears to be taking place, if they'd "borrowed" the forwardsy backwardsy driver off the X-Tract and dropped the woodsaw, they'd have had room for scissors and an awl  :P

+1 :tu:

BTW this is probably the sole SHOT unearthing that tickled my radar. Too bad the Multitasker Chomper/EDC didn't make it... :-\

I am pretty excited about this one as well.  At first it seems like a companion type tool at best until you realize that the built in wrenches handle a lot of plier type duties.

Maybe it can't completely replace the pliers, but it can go a long way to it.

Also note that the wrench on one side is ground away a bit on the inside so the wrench actually works as a bottle opener too!

I might have to get one. Not a fan of T-handle drivers, but still I like it. I see it more as a pocket alligator wrench with added functions than a full multi. Which I like.

This tool impressed me as well. I was watching a video on youtube from the shot show but they did not even mention this tool.

Most knife guys wouldn't notice or care about this with all the new knives announced.  That's the whole point of this site.

That is a good point. They sure do have alot of great new knives coming out but to be honest just about all I carry anymore is a multitool of some sort.  I am seriously considering belt carrying a rebar when it comes out and getting a nice smaller blade to carry in my watch pocket.

I am pretty well the same way- a dedicated folder just isn't in the cards for me anymore.  I have tried, but I always feel that space could be taken up by a tool with many more capabilities than a knife.  And, I have not found anything that a Spyderco or Benchmade could cut that a Charge or Spirit can't.

Same here.  I would rather carry another multi in the spot that a folder would take up.  I sometimes carry both my blast and another tool, my sideclip or lately my MP600, and my capabilities are doubled.  I use a knife every single day, without fail due to the nature of my job and I too haven't found a single task that the blade on my MP600 or SAK or Blast couldn't handle just as well as a folder.  With my MP600 I get an awesome utility blade AND a full serrated blade in the same bundle, and I love that.

+1. I used to carry a folder with my multi, but just fail to see the point any longer. Hell, the blade on my Workchamp is honestly excessive for what I use it for, there's no need for more. I don't even have any desire for one-hand opening any more.

I tend to be the other way, and only use blades on a multi as back up. Sure a multi will do the same job, but a folder handles so much better. It also means I can carry multis with CE blades quite happily. The CE serves as back up and second option to the plain edge in my pocket

Any estimate on when it will be available? It's the most interesting item, to me, of all the tools from the SHOT show.

I have to agree.  It certainly is one of the ones that caught my eye when all of the new goodies were being shown on the shot show reports.

I have a CRKT thumb-activated-blade knife that is really nice, with good quality.  I look forward to seeing this one in person.

This certainly looks interesting. I don't have much need for a saw, but it looks like it could be customized easily.

I just came across this tool brand today (sorry  :-\) But the design instantly caught my eye. Liked the Guppie and H.U.G. too. I'm a hugh Leatherman fan, but will get some CRKT tools too, price is ok and hope quality is better then Gerber (anyone can confirm that?)

I spoke to CRKT a few days ago and these were held up until later this month.

Ah; I'd deleted my message when I saw on their site that it was still listed as "Coming Soon;" I thought it was available when I was it as "low stock" on AG Russell's site. :/

Yup, very low stock!

That's why you have to be very careful about ordering these kinds of things when they first come out.

I'll check with Travis about doing an MTO group buy.

It's already at SMKW; I handled one today before leaving for home.  It's a very neat tool; the main blade is a bit shorter than what they could've fit onto it, and I don't know how I feel about the T-placement for the screwdrivers, but it felt like a solid bit of kit. :tu:

Interesting, considering CRKT claims they don't have any in yet.

Well I didn't dream it. :P

Also, SMKW's website states they're in stock; I know there's at least the one I handled in the showroom.  Granted, that's like the SOG PowerDuo; SMKW's only had them for about four days now; it's the only place I've seen with them; the Gerber MP600ST has been there for a month now, without much fanfare - still didn't see the Groundbreaker, though. ::)
