If the Pocket Power Pliers exposed gear teeth bother you as they did me, you can replace the handle/gear assembly with one from a PowerPlay PT-510.  If your PPP has the older pliers jaws, you can replace them with the pointier PT-510 jaws, too.

Paladin is now part of Greenlee and new PT-510s are frequently sold on ebay at low prices.  I bought one for $15 and another for $20 including shipping.

Nice find!  I only have one Paladin Tool and I bought it for parts.  One of these days I'll get more- especially if I can find them at that price!

I did indeed upgrade my PPP to a PT-510 chassis, and the result was excellent!

Then I lost it

I was Googling around on the topic and found this thread. Go MT.O  :D

I came across a Paladin PowerPlay 525 on eBay with broken jaws. It was a sad sight. Since I had a SOG Powerlock at home that was just sitting idle, and since I do telecom wiring as part of my job, I scored the broken tool on the cheap and swapped jaws. Perfect fit with little effort, and now I have a work-specific MT.   :multi:
