Canadian Tire, in general, sells an enormous number of incredibly crappy knives.

Just read that, some improvements, but IMO not nearly enough to worth $105.  :o

For the little that changed it's not worth that much extra.  An extra $10 maybe, but not double the price.

Consider yourself lucky, and everyone who bought one screwed.

I also have to say that I'm really happy so far with the two Gerber knives.

I really love the Warrant Knife, now I just need to find a sheath for it. I emailed Gerber to see if I could buy one, but not sure if they will sell one separate.

Now that's a bit like asking if horse crap tastes any better than dog crap.  The bottom line is your probably much better off not trying either.

Lol!
I won't actually get one, I'm afraid I might get banned!

I did manage to cut a piece of paper with my Rambo knife, but when I tried to cut cardboard I got scared and stopped.

By all means feel free to try a smurf & Wesson knife for yourself.  I have warned you, so whatever you end up with is all on you!  :P

If I still had one I'd let you try it out to see what you think of it without spending any money, but I think all the ones I had have disintegrated.

I think I do have one come to think of it, brand new in box that I willingly paid actual money for, although the knife was incidental. I bought it as an organization called HAVA was settling them to raise money to help get disabled veterans out doors for four wheeling, hunting and the like.  If you want it, it's all yours, but you will have to absolve me of any responsibility for anything that happens!

the only S&W worth buying would be a gun. but i usually steer clear when it comes to the knives by taylor stamped with either shrade, s&w or whichever label they paid for licensing.

There are actually like, 3 or 4 decent Schrade knives.  All of them are fixed blades but made with 1095 steel (which is really, really difficult to screw up)

These days Smith & Wesson will put their name on anything. I would steer clear.

You can't blame the actual Smith & Wesson.  On paper a company like Taylor has a lot of money, full time design staff, a huge brand portfolio and one of the best distribution networks in the business.  They seem like a Godsend to someone at a major company and by the time they learn the truth it's too late... plus with gobs of cash rolling in you really don't want to rock the boat, especially when you don't have to lift a finger to get it.

Coca Cola, Pepsi, Busch, NASCAR, Remington, Winchester, John Deere, Ford, GMC, BMW..... all of these have sold the rights to their brands to El Cheapo companies.
