I Had an Aloxplorer made for me by Syph last year, but unfortunately I would never carry it. Now, looking at the Pioneer X, I don't really care for the "wrong" nail nick position. Long story short, wanting a Pioneer X, but with the "proper" nail nick, I removed the mag/Phillips layer from the Aloxplorer and, after shortening the pivots and the screws, put everything back together, Loctite and all. (cross-posted, because I'm so happy with the result)

(Image removed from quote.)

Good job but this makes me a sad panda and makes baby Jesus cry.

Aloxplorer is such a great SAK. To big for you?

Not too big, I regularly pocket carry a Champion. But I have several 80s Cellidor Explorers and they would always win over the Alox with their slightly different toolset.

Dibs the removed layer if you are getting rid of it.

Found this poor bigger at a Flea market and thought I'd take it home and show it some love.
Broken tools, springs, bent liners and pins, and covered with ink, glue and other mysterious filth.

I stripped her apart, cleaned her up and put back together with a few new parts, minus the scaler.

My first restoration job and now it's riding in my pocket waiting to work.

Pls look at my movie, how it works:

(BTW: how to insert VDO preview to post?)

It works quite well without any job with mechanics, but this mod, which I worked on main blade mechanics works better:
It's Swisschamp One Hand Lite Mod:

Hi. Another Vic's Swisschamp One Hand mod:

What I did:
1. Switched main blade as OH blade from 111 mm knife
2. Moved layer with regular blade near center of knife, switched small blade in this layer to nail file from Wenger, switched back tool to multipurpose hook
3. Switched multipurpose hook from scissors layer to 58 mm phillips screwdriver
Everything else is like on regular swisschamp.
