A rebuild of a 1980s Swiss Champ. I had the original knife as a youngster and it was used and abused for years and then left in a tool box and forgotten until I rediscovered it and decided to take it apart for mod fodder. The bits found their way into several other models over the years but I recently decided none were quite as good as I remembered that original Champ….so I collected as many of the parts back together and rebuilt it as close to original as possible. Parts replaced are a new 2.4mm main blade and the brass scale studs from an old camper a couple of the liners and the scales. I think everything else including the round mini screwdriver is from the original. It’s a lovely thing, love the slimmer pliers, not so keen on the old style ( non stainless) file but the authenticity is more important in this one. Nothing feels quite like a Swiss Champ - an absolutely classic design…wish I’d done it sooner.

My latest mod is a Spydernox with, yes, Econo Scales.
New custom painted scales. I could not fine 84MM Plus scale let along 84MM Plus scales in the right shade of blue. So I made some.
My first attempt at an 84mm build using 91mm scissors - the Golfer. Had some very old European stag horn that's was earmarked for the bin during a clean-out. Dates from around the 1930's shot by my grandfather somewhere in Austria. Glad I could repurpose them. I took some photos so will look at doing a separate thread on the build process. Very nice I’m glad it worked out, good snap back nothing loose? Be warned, normally once you do one your gong to want to do more! anyway it looks very nice I like the scales and the old school cross, nice touch! JR
I don't know if it's been done before but I'm sure I haven't seen it anywhere else. Nice work
This page has some outstanding mods.
I don´t seem to get the hang of how to post pics... Any helpful member that can give me tips (so I can post some of my builds) ?
Hopefully this helps, don't hesitate to ask for clarification afterwards, since some things may have changed on the computer side since 2007!https://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=2306.0
