I just finished my first SAK mod, a Hiker from which I removed the openers, put the awl where the back Philips was and changed to screwed on G10 scales. It was a bit of a struggle getting the last liner on and I had to bend the saw away from the outside scale but I got there!

Got the itch to do a two blade SAK mod and need some help naming it. Any thoughts?

Nice mod! I have been thinking about doing one with the dual blades but never got around to it. Looks, but I don't have any name suggestions

“Double edged sword” is far better than anything I could come up with myself.  :dunno: Usually you could say some standard version with  “compact” or “plus” modifier, but “Compact Champion Plus”seems wrong without the magnifying glass. Made this model to be a five layer pocketable SAK to pair with Leatherman Mini or Knipex pliers.

How about pfrsantos's EDC SAK? You just have to send it to me, so the name is correct...

Hi

This is my first post to this forum although I've been lurking here for a long time.

Only very minor modding on this Huntsman but the practicality of this tool has been upgraded greatly. Filed a bit the flathead to fit into a Leatherman bit adaptor and added a sewing needle inside the scales with a loop of thread to pull it out. Mostly going to need that needle to dig something out of the skin but as it is a sewing needle I can also sew with it.  Edit: also swapped the scales from my Spartan because I didn´t grow to like the original transparent blue.

Thanks. The scales have a needle hole where the corkscrew is. Normal/small size sewing needles fit there snug and don´t fall of. Only thing here to know is that if you dont push the needle far enough, when you close the corkscrew it may snap the thread hole as this happened to me. But there is no way to pull the needle out without pliers so thats why I made the loop of thread as a way to pull it out

Nice mod, if you ever wish to use the Leatherman bit adapter as a T-handle driver it fits perfectly without modification on the 2.5 mm fine screwdriver on back of models like the ranger, craftsman, champion, swisschamp, etc...

Thanks. Didn't know that. I like that I can use the Huntsman as a screwdriver and there is also that torque setting when the flathead is 90 degrees. But if I had one of those sak's there wouldn't be any need for this mod. Btw, I was thinking about buying the Ranger but bought the Huntsman instead several months ago to keep it more compact for edc. On the other hand im still itching for that file as I tend to use file on everything

This is a Delemont version that I just did using ALM Knives titanium scales from E-bay with .110 416ss heat treated pivots from USA Knife Maker.
The Delemont layers I purchased from E-bay. They seem to be from various Delemont versions, I think the S557 and S17. I am really enjoying the inline Phillips.

Cool, here’s what I did with a bunch of leftovers, I really wanted to use that carabiner and mini Philips, let alone the nail file and not double bladed,,

Very cool, I really like the carabiner built-in! A nice selection of tools and scales.  :like:

I wish the parts I purchased included scales.  :(
It just included one set of outer plates.

Oh totally! I mean I customized a compact, I switched out the corkscrew for a Philips, cause well,I really just don’t need a corkscrew, but I also added a layer and added a saw to make it my like perfect tool arrangement,,

Funny, I did the opposite switched out the t-phillips  for the corkscrew since I added the wrench / phillips layer for my perfect tool setup. I did not need two phillips or do I. :dunno:

Why thanks, it’s probably just because I reused the same scales, yeah that one has both the carabiner / Philips and the t-Philips, but I just have absolutely no use for a corkscrew, I fig since the one across from the carabiner is so short having the longer one on the back would be good just in case..  :dunno:
