This video was just a sneak peek. The up coming full length version will include a tutorial.
Thanks.

I EDC a Style PS, too. Didn't knew I could use it as a bit driver.

Well, it's certainly not sanctioned by Leatherman, won't work in a situation with a really tight screw which needs lots of torque [there's only friction keeping the micro bit from flopping over within the two carabineer side walls, after all], and for reasons I don't understand it seems to fit better on some Leathermans than others. [The Style PS and CS clips look the same, (don't they?), yet the fit seems different. Its hard to explain; perhaps as they wear or bend things change? Not sure.].

In theory, if you are too forceful, due to a tight fit ramming the micro bit in, you could snap the Leatherman's two side, supporting walls apart. Ouch. See the micro bits are a tad wider than the two walls. I take no responsibility for any such possible failures. Any attempt to ram in the microbit too deeply could theoretically bend, distort, or outright snap the Leatherman in two. Oh Noes.
Here I show microbits w/ the earlier Style CS, in an old video, doing some minor surgery on his big brother:

My Style PS however is not as friendly to mounting the bit this way, out the top that is, YMMV.

I used my CS with the LM bits and bit driver for a while until the spring popped off and scared the smurf out of me. I managed to get the spring back on using the PS from memory. The best thing about it is the weight saving. Great job with the micro bits.  :salute:

^Thanks for mentioning how the spring might also be in jeopardy by using these things against the manufacturer's plans. Good point.

I consider these alternative ways to use the bits (I posted videos about) to be "in a pinch" emergency sorts of applications, not day to day use. The LM bits one has some wobble to it and certainly should not be used for any strenuous applications [pinching the side walls as you use it helps though] but as one poster wrote after seeing my alternative bit uses: "Leatherman, please design these to actually work this way!". I agree:

CHALLENGE!

Maybe someone around here could try to transform these round holes into hexes, so as to fit the bits...

As far as I'm concerned, lanyard holes should always be 1/4 inch hex holes! :D
I don't have the skills or the patience [a triangular needle file maybe?...hmm], but I've often thought this product would be so much nicer that way:

How about creating/finding a hex rod. The outer wall would be held against the reshaped hole, the inside would hold the bits.

Like this. Maybe there's not something like this small enough to use and creating one from scratch is too complicated to make.

Oh man, you know what that would be good for, cut only like a 3/16" piece off and drill holes on each corner, and make it like one of those tec ufos like on this page..

The ball bearings look wicked. Definetly gonna do this.

What's the center peice? A spacer? Or smaller bearing?

Thanks, all three are miniature ball-bearings, not easy to find but if you look around on the Web you should be able to source them from few places. Just make sure the inner hole diameter is 5-6mm, any smaller and the fit will be super tight (paracord is 4mm in diameter, compressible to about 2.5-3mm...and you'll need two cords thru the ball bearing hole) any larger and the bearings/beads will flop and float up and down.

BTW, the copper ferrule on that lanyard is a 3mm steel wire end-stop. Internal dimensions are 3mmx6mm.

Hope this helps.

It's official: Leatherman Style PS is off the rotation. Scissors fail with almost no use at all, just by being closed.

Vic Signature Lite, coupled with Led Lenser K1 from now on.

Well, at least Leatherman should fix that for free under their "hassle free" 25 year warranty.

I've always liked the larger scissors on mini-Leathermans such as the original Micra, but for the smaller, fold-out designs I've always thought the Vic versions were better.

Babola, I meant to mention before, I really like the color coordination of the copper ferrule and that specific paracord you chose. Looks classy.

I thought of that but just the cost of shipping the Style to the USA will be almost the same as buying a new one...

Amici,
I carry the following on a titanium ring:

1-Pico Lighter
2-Uncle Bills Silver Gripper
3-Victorinox Executive with silver alox handles
4-Titanium 4 7's whistle

All are secured with McGizmo clips for easy removal along with a titanium clip for deep pocket carry.. I use this rig as my "Professional Attire" EDC as not to "offend any water cooler tethered sheeple I might encounter..

Cheers,
Serge
