:woohoo:

This SCS, I *finally* made the break through to show the first generation pliers Champs ran from ‘86 to ‘88 in production. Confirmation comes from a wide assortment of dated knives. Battle series, Apollo, Hoffritz LE/LE2, Space shuttle.

The thing I was missing is clear in this pic with representatives from each of the 3 years.

Found a Champ that allows me to split up ‘86 production further. It’s between the liner protocol change and the last scissor backspring update, pre-hook.

Just bought a translucent sapphire Swiss Champ. Isn't my favorite color, but thought it was a good deal for $68 shipped.

I paid 64 euros for mine (new) so I'd say it's a nice deal, considering its like 95 on vic website I think !
I'm more than sure that you will enjoy it  :tu:

Tried to carry one today to make up for Sunday. It certainly isn't a Little Sak!

Compared to other 91mm or smaller SAKs, no it's not a little SAK. But considering how small it is for what it can do, that's pretty impressive.

I keep thinking about switching down to a SAK with fewer layers, but then I think about what I'd have to carry in addition to make up for the tools I'd be giving up if I didn't have a Champ in my pocket. The closest I've come is my Deluxe Explorer mod (Explorer + pliers). Would probably work for winter, but I'd want to have a wood saw again when Spring and yard work return.

:iagree: and there's just something about a Swisschamp. The knife is a legend, and is legal almost everywhere in the world that a pocket knife is legal.  The reviews on Vic's site are the stuff of legends.  Honestly, it's worthy of a book in itself.  I'm currently carrying a Spirit and Alox Minichamp, but I'm so sorely tempted to throw on the Champ.  It's definitely the one riding with me when I begin traveling again in a couple of years outside the US.
In some ways it seems large, but for the bang for the buck toolset wise, it's not really that large . Compared to a lot of pocket tools, it's manageable.

Just picked up an unused SwissChamp and an unused Champion.  I’m currently pairing the SC with an 84mm Tourist for EDC.  attach id=0 msg=2311669]
