Very nice group of cutters displayed and shared.  The splayed scales are very buce and I do like the two blade Stockman.

I have made progress improving the blade opening and closing Blade action.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thank you David and Steve.

It is a very attractive and heavy duty Trapper.

This was Sos24’s, we arranged a trade.

It is labeled Beaver Tail and scales are Brazilian Cherry.

It maybe a shelve queen displayed in the family room. 😜

Thanks guys. The scales are stabilised maple dyed blue. Apparently they were part of some off-cuts Ashley got in trade from a customer.

He made 3 of these in a run in different woods - the photo below shows the other one I could have chosen. The third was in sort of a striped oak I think. A friend of mine has another in green stabilised birch.

I think the reason he does these is pretty much because he is playing around with Damascus, trying to master the technique. These are the result. Amazing.

Camillus USA 1047 Boy Scout Whittler--which was the cheapest 72 I could find at the time. I'm a big fan of the Tenderfoot shield. I was only in Scouts shortly due to some issues involving visitation with my mother which had no allowance for Scouting activities, which meant I had to drop out at 13. I think I made Second Class.

I didn't own an official Scout knife until about 5-6 years ago--I carried a Fieldmaster (plain version) during my entire tenure (even before Totin' Chip). Totin' Chip really taught me knife safety. I stopped closing blades on my finger after that and learned to put my thumb on the spine.

A great pattern!!! I have one just like it but have not carried it in quite a while. I think you might have inspired my carry for tomorrow!  :like:
