For some reason (I can't think why :D) I got my Wright spearpoint out for some pocket time today.  As you can see the Wright and the Taylors are really quite different in almost every detail.

Really loving that spearpoint Gareth!!!

Nice one Gordon !

Your pics have gotten real small lately

Interesting, the pictures I have submitted do appear normal via my phone’s Chrome vie of the web, yet on my laptop they are smaller.

So I took two photos this morning of the same subjects, on a cutting mat for better reference.

Will test a couple different selections I have made.

square format, smallest file size

Photo format, smallest file size

Square format, larger file size

Photo format, larger file size.

It is not the format selected, square and photo formats provide the desired fit of the image on the picture.

It is the file size I select when choosing the image to upload from my phone, often 4 choices are given and knowing  that 500 is the max to upload, I previously would select the next size lower.   Of more recent selections I started selecting the smallest file size.  and the that is the cause of the smaller photos on my posts.  Next I will post the same photo using the available file sizing.

"Square format, larger file size" is the largest of those you have posted, as indicated by the file size of 115KB.  It's 640x640 pixels, which is still fairly small.

Yes, format has no affect.

It is the selection of fie size that determines the view online.   the difference is not noticeable on my phone's display, but very noticeable on my laptop.

End of test, lesson learned.

Yep,  until Steve shared his observation of my pictures, I was not certain why.   Now know !

But, if I do not say so myself, that is a pretty picture of three knives

Lovely knives. What's that screwey looking thing on the Stockman? An awl?

 ??? ???

Never mind, just saw the pic of the other side in another thread. It is an awl, right? Unusual, I thought Stockmans (Stockmen?!) only had 3 different blades.

Unusual, I thought Stockmans (Stockmen?!) only had 3 different blades.

Certainly less common, but sometimes they have other tools in addition to knife blades…
