And a Sheep’s Foot Barlow arrived this afternoon…

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Kinda blown away by the Rosewood covers, sharpness and high polish on blade and bolster on the 4” (closed) model.

Bear & Sons USA made.  Very surprised!

So YES I am showing it off!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Yes, and to be honest, I needed a beauty for Wood handled Wednesday😜.

I wanted to check out the manufacturer,  their knives keep popping up at hardware locations, but mostly FB and nylon handled lock back styles.

This one caught my eye and I could not dislodge the hook🙄

The blade is proud in the handle, yet functional for its purpose.  The steel is not called out but 440 is listed on the web site.  The India Stag is equally pretty.

Also, have traditional 2-b Barlows!

@Enginears - Thank you  :hatsoff:

Will picture in a couple of days when it arrives.
I have heard some good things about bear and sons QC and fit and finish.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Great knives everyone,
That Michael may is beautiful Gareth. It’s my 50th birthday in June and am hoping to put a custom order in for a stag barlow. I don’t know what the turn around times are as I bought my last M.May knife of the shelf so to speak.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I have 1943 clasp knife with plenty of meat on the main blade but I think the back of the blade that interfaces with the spring must be worn badly as there is no snap open or closed. And when the blade is open it has so much up and down play.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

I have been toting a few knives around to test, among them is this single blade mini trapper. Case never made a mini with just the spay, but I did find a picture of a full-size 6154 said to have been made in 2003 that had only the spay. The mini is a very slim little guy, it is one half of a broken mini trapper I have been working on.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]    [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
