The corkscrew Ranger is just weird.

Seems perfectly nice to me if you look at is as a part of their line of kitchen knives rather than as a SAK. Sure, it's a one trick pony but it is meant to be just that. It's would make for a nice looking alternative to the waiter style openers that are basically the best in the game (at least if you want a portable solution, the Swiss make some excellent wall or shelf mounted ones as well...). I've been considering the idea of a Victorinox with lever for pulling the cork and it seems they have too.

Not an Outrider, more like a Nomad or Centurion, unless 3 layers, and definitely has backtools you can see in LeaF's 1st pic. I disagree with whoever wrote that, the pics say different.

The scales look a lot like the ebony LE Climber. That would be my guess.

Do I see a linerlock? With the scissors and small Philips opening stub as on the Outrider peeking out the other side... That's a new combo....

I hope this is the start of a diversification of tools on the liner lock knives! :D Liner lock Hercules please!
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

I know I'm pathetic... but I'm scanning here and the Facebook every few hours in the hope of any more news in this 111mm liner lock space...

What I can guage so far:

- 'Workmen' range in liner lock with uncertainty about which models may be included; though perhaps the big ones like the Hercules and Workchamp.

- There is a reference to the slide lock being discontinued, which hopefully means quite some additions to the liner lock range.

- If the pictured Damast really is an Outrider, finally we will have scissors in liner lock.

The green ltd. alox looks great, and hunter pro alox??! Sounds interesting...  :climber:

Vic should just offer an "elite mode" of a  93mm Soldier with an S35VN blade steel, and TI scales. See how it sells, and expand the line if popular.

Hang in there Grass.  I was doing the same thing for a while.
If they are discontinuing the slide lock, I'm wondering if they will give the liner lock versions new names or keep the old- there is precedent for both.  Most of the liner lock models have different names than their slide lock counterparts but that may just be because they kept producing the slide lock versions.  The Fireman retained it's name when it transitioned to liner lock.

Hmm; the 'Workman Range' may be a specific model...

So... Just a Forester with wood scales? ???
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

Victorinox, I will give you what people is expecting from you:

- Get back Vic 84 mm scissors
- More 74, 84, 91 and 93 mm alox models
- Rambler alox
- More tools for 74 mm line!!!
- Bladeless Saks
- MULTITOOLS: Alternatives to LM Juice and Squirt

And over all:
- A custom SAK service
People will pay high prices for a Victorinox factory custom built SAK
Personalization of tools, scales, liners, layers...
Do this and you will be winners!!!

P.S.:
Innovation is not new alox colors and limited editions.
That is SAD and RIDICULOUS!!!

Also:

Pens for 74mm and 111mm models. Why are Garant scales not the norm?
G10 scales, get rid of cellidor.
Scales with pocket clips. Not for all models, just those thin enough to have one.
Spirit's chisel on SAKs. Or a Wingman style package opener. Best tool on it.
In-line awl for 111mm models. Having the 91mm awl on the back of the 111mm is ludicrous. Take the 93mm awl and supersize it.
OHO Jumpmaster (or Rescue Tool) with file
OHO Spirit for countries that allow it. And add a pocket clip on it. It's the slimmest MT out there.
SwissChamp with safety blade instead of fish scaler.

I propose a list of suggestions for Victorinox.
It could be sent to Mr Karl Elsener:

1.- A previous suggestions recopilation
2.- A later votation
3.- And sent the selected ones.

Are you agree?

Are you mad??  :twak:
Get rid of cellidor?? I understand people like a lot of different scales and scale material, but for me and some others red cellidor scales are the very definition of a Victorinox Sak.  ;)

I buy SAKs for a lot of reasons. Tradition is indeed one of them. The shiny red cellidor is undeniably pleasing, but a SAK is also a tool, and being a tool, it has to evolve. They dropped the can-key slot because there was no use for it anymore, they dropped the older versions of the can opener, they dropped the removable pen for 58mm models in favor of the push-down version, etc.

Replacing cellidor with a more modern material that is more durable is not an unreasonable concept.

I understand your point, and agree to some extent, but they offer so many scale options already that actually replacing it permanently would be a bit unnecessary. Cellidor is a cheap and easy to work with and durable material if treated with care, and easy to replace. I just don't see they changing it with a more expensive material, they had nylon which was tougher and don't have it anymore.
If they could make scales in a tougher material that looked like traditional cellidor at the same price, now that would be great.

I think there is a lot more important evolutions and updates they can make other than scale materials, mainly in tools (updates and develop new ones)

They should copy Apple and build their SAKs with nothing but aluminium and glass.
That way they'd NEVER break and would last literally FOREVER!!!!

That's what I was thinking. I do like other handle materials, but I prefer cellidor on my SAKs.
What's wrong with cellidor? Sure, it has disadvantages but in a way that's what gives it character over time.

Reliable!

How good is your Italian?
I ordered once or twice from here:
https://www.agrariagioiese.it/contents/it/d1363.html
But it was a nerve wracking experience. They list all sorts of cool things which they don't actually have. After I placed an order for 180 euros  nothing happened for a week; then I got an email in Italian telling me most of the things I wanted were out of stock. So I hired the best translators money can buy (Google translate...) and asked if they would at least send me the things that were available.
Another week passed. Then I got the shortest email I've ever seen. One word:

Si

Many moons later a parcel arrived, really badly wrapped - but the items were inside, miraculously in good condition.
Empires rose and fell and eventually I got a credit card refund for the things I'd paid for but which could't be sent.
Not a great shopping experience and not one I'd recommend but if they have something you urgently need, you could cobble together an email and ask if they have it before ordering. They are honest, but not dazzlingly competent.

Grazie a Dio per google translate!
Caio!
