I had a look at an XXL at my Vic agent a few weeks ago, and the housing was clear. (Just a look )
I suspect that being a little less popular than the mainstream 91%u2019s, the LED versions tend to sit a little longer in stock. This may explain finding retail stock with grey housings?  :dunno:

Go on Max you know you want to......
Agreed about the stock/rate of sales point on the XAVT - Who would be mad enough to buy an XAVT
Show content
...... well me for one!   :o

.... or XXL   - Although I totally agree with Simon's point:
To me it feels as if the XXL lacks soul. Flagships have to be extravagant, overambitious and also a bit crazy in my book, like the ridiculously oversized Giant, the dysfunctional butane gaz lighter-XXLT or the "technology powerhouse"-XAVT. The XXL is just a bigger version of the XLT and as such feels too normal and boring (as well as tremendously overpriced). Actually, it's one direct step back from the XAVT - where is the innovation and audacity in that?
I can't see it being a great seller.

Also agree  on your other point about the wrench / clear housing XAVT's being much more desireable than the original ones -
They weren't around for too long in comparison

Now wait a minute, Huntsman! If memory serves, you started this club without being a member. Has this changed in the meantime? If so, congratulations! Although I have to live from Cornflakes now, I just love my new XAVT!

Following my comment earlier, here's mine along with a shot showing the clear housing.

It's a good job I dug it out for this thread. I realise that, despite being a shelf queen, I'd left the bloody batteries inside it. Now removed until the next time I fancy playing with the LED.

We have the tools, we have the talent!

Well done - I'd say that is a damm good price.

And it's only going to get more and more valuable as a retired model

Congratulations, Ulzhan :tu: It was about time to put your puny XLT to rest and finally start EDC'ing a real SAK ;)

Hmmm... That XXL is really overkill. It's mostly a shelf queen. But when it's getting used it usually gets epic.

Still using the XLT / Spirit Combo. And if it needs to be a little smaller, just a minichamp alox.

It’s surprisingly usable, especially if you have the sheath for it. It also makes a great conversation starter!

It really is.

"Is that really usable or just a brick?"

Used already the watch opener to change a battery...

Do you mind I brought some company?
I believe the S54 Evo should be included.

I agree as it's Wenger's version.  Very nice!
