What are your weekend plans?
on: March 31, 2017, 03:46:21 PM
You know it's been "one of those weeks" when you are counting down the clock to 5pm Friday!

I'm off to Hay on Wye this weekend for a good few hours of book buying, walking and hopefully scoping out sites for some camping fun later this year.

How about you?

Don't forget to let us know what you bought in Hay - Love that place!

Weather permitting I will be down the allotment for the whole weekend - lots to do.

Have a good weekend everyone

Huzzah for books!

If you're ever near Bath, there's a place called Book Barn which is like a mini-Hay. All the books are a quid each and they have about a million of them.

Are you going armed with a list? and if so, what's on it?  :pok:

I'm going to Hay too - on my bike. :D Won't have time for book shopping though. :(

The house we nearly bought is just down the road from there. Was looking forward to having a good look round.

That's a shame - they have a great cafe too.

The house you choose next will be better though.

I'm cleaning the carpets and starting to pack for an upcoming move to New Zealand in a few weeks. Nothing like a surprise job offer for the wife to make life a bit more......  shall we say interesting.

Tomorrow my off-road club is hosting our annual Kids Easter Egg Hunt Run.  We do some off-roading, and set out treat bags for the kids to find.  It should be a good time. :)

Party tomorrow! My mother turned 74 three weeks ago, and a Sunday dinner party for the entire family is her way to celebrate.

Today I bought some cable to repair one of my kayaks- the squirrels ate the deck lined off of it at the end of the season last year.

Tomorrow we are going to a sugar Shack for a pancake breakfast before we completely miss the maple run this year.  Growing up near Montreal I remember picking little popsicle sticks with maple syrup on the end out of the snow and sucking on it to get all that sweet syrup out. I'm looking forward to doing it again.

After that we will probably head out to our spot in the woods to make lunch, then a community meeting in the afternoon to arrange for a community garden at the end of the street.  Going to be a full day tomorrow!

This morning we ran the roads, but in the afternoon we divided. Son and I boiled down some sap and the wife and daughter went into the city to see the Strombellas. They also went for pho.

Any hints on where we should be going? :D

At my parents. lol.

Folks at work like going to Wheelers which is past Perth.

Shaw Woods on Bulger Road is another option. Self guided tours. Not a polished commercial outfit so I don't know what they offer. The site is beautiful though and they have a large open air Pavilion for eating a packed lunch.

Saturday plans went off all ok, shopping, dog walking and treating mum to lunch.  Today's gardening plans not so much. A last minute invite to the pub last night and a bit of over indulgence has lead to a hangover so I'm doing nothing today instead.

It was a great night out though

Well I have continued the trend of doing very little. Dinner is in the slow cooker, film library on media server is organised and I had a long chat on the phone with 50ft-trad aka Al. :tu:
