I like the the basic concept of the signal. I just can not get past the combo blade. I even looked around to see if anyone is making plain edge blade for it. I found one company Texas tool but im not interested in Damascus for my multi tool. Maybe someone will fill the nitch and profit from it.

Blade aside i like the idea of having the sharpener and ferro rod. I have carried an ferro blank with my leatherman wave for years. Any how if anyone is looking to make the blade give me a heads up id buy it in a heart beat.

We have a member who tried the Texas Tool Damascus blade.  He has some issues.  I'll try to find the link to the thread.

Welcome to the boards Rfehling.

Combo blades aren't my thing either however the Signal blade rules. I have no issues taking the Signal over a Wave/Charge.

+1, the blade is very good and holds an edge well.

So the removable parts only come in yellow? No matter the model?

We have a member who tried the Texas Tool Damascus blade.  He has some issues.  I'll try to find the link to the thread.

I tried it. The blade is not a perfect fit at all. To start with it is 1mm thinner than the stock blade which makes it difficult to tighten properly. I tried spacing it out with a few brass washers which helped a bit. The other problem is that the OEM blade had an off-set angle to accommodate the awl. The Damascus does not have that and the blades rubs against the awl when it is closed. I have subsequently removed it and put the OEM blade back.

Have a look at the first few posts in this thread:

As far as I know. I have not seen the black ones for sale yet. They do dye well with liquid RIT dye.

That's a bit weird, given the many different colors they offer for some models.
Surely the different colors would be popular.

True be that, however the ones with the black bits are pretty "recent". The Green Cabella's one is exclusive to them, so I'm not to sure how that works in terms of parts availability. It is certainly not available in Oz - off the shelf that is. The Coyote one is here and that one has the black plastic bits. I think that LM will have them available in the future, well I hope so. Easier that standing in front of the stove dyeing them all black.

I have red ones from the DMAX edition
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.
