Mine was completely dull as well and also the bevel that was ground in varied over the length of the blade, starting at around 40 degrees for the first third and then tapering down to about 30. The variable bevel didn't really bother me as I've done that with blades intentionally to keep a sturdier edge near the area where the most force can be applied but I've found using a round rod sharpener to be the best way to sharpen it since it is easier to follow the "curve".

But to be honest I will slowly over time turn this into a regular v-bevel and have already started sharpening the other side. If you want to quickly put an edge on the blade and don't mind transitioning to a v-bevel start sharpening the flat side by holding it up a few degrees so that you are only contacting a small area of the bevel. You should be able to get it serviceably sharp in a very short amount of time this way. Hope that helps.

Okay, I'll probably give that a go, would prefer a regular v-bevel - I have a Spyderco Sharpmaker, so would prefer to just have a 40 degree angle on a v-bevel all round

Since stopping work I've been able to move towards sheath carry. The beauty about this sheath, other than it being a perfect fit for these two tools, is that can put it on and take it off withouth removing the belt. I hate the look of sheath carry to be honest. It's fine for emergency services and military, but to me it just looks too "wannabe" otherwise - just my personal opinion  :salute: - and I can unclip this and stuff it in a jacket pocket when leaving the house.

It's also be best solution I've found so far, for carrying these two tools without them getting too scratched up. The Climber Small and Juice KF4 - an excellent combo with minimal duplication.

Only one can opener, bottle opener, Phillips..... the stuff that so often gets duplicated between SAK and pliers tool. Yet between the two I'm not left wanting for anything either. I wouldn't always carry the same light, but this is one of my favourite pocket lights anyway.

I feel exactly the same way, but I'm OK if the sheath is slim enough to not be obvious.  I'm not sure what I'm "wanting to be" though when I do carry them. A dork, maybe?

The stainless clips are pretty much a requirement for me so it can be removed without the belt..  I like your setup.  :tu:

Nice Combo, but I'd be too OCD to put the metal Leatherman squashed up against the SAK scales.

I've ordered one of these to carry a SAK next to my DQG Tiny AAA Ti in my pocket together, though:

So what is the least redundant combo considering tools?
If we want to make zero duplicate tools it would be...
Knifeless Rebar + Excelsior?
Spirit + Nail Clip?
 ::)

They have to invent knifeless swiss pocket knife.

A blade is the one tool I don't mind at all to have in redundancy.  Many times I have 5 or 6 of them of various sizes and configurations on me.

Hmmm lets see

I had the Climber Small and KF4, so that's 4 blades. Alox Rambler round my neck, Dime on my keys, Utilikey on my keys, and a Classic stashed in my wallet - if you count the Dime's package opener, that's 9 blades in total

Nice Combo, but I'd be too OCD to put the metal Leatherman squashed up against the SAK scales.

I know what you mean, but I'm happier that way than with the SAK scratching the paint off the Juice. It's the best solution i have at the minute, and I'm not in a position to buy more stuff right now. I do have one of Eric's Skinths, but I'd still have to carry them the same way in the one I've got, and there's more room for them to move and clatter against each other. If the yellow scales start getting beat up, I might consider making something....

Well at least Vic scales are replaceable if they do start to show too much wear
