Couldn't sleep this morning, so I tried my first attempt at wrapping a handle (buck paklite)

Thanks so much guys! This one has a little experience on it so it might get some use....might even swap out the medallion for something fancy, like nickel silver or turquoise.

Here's the collection, sans the Gerber profile that's *some*where. I'm loving the BK15, it's very nimble! The BK5 is crazy. I love it. It's got what I assume is the older Becker coating, and the tang stamp not etching. The BK15 is new coating (like truck bedliner, it's great) and etched.

The sheaths that came with the 15 and 17 are great, and I'm loving the tan scales than came with them. The 5 sheath has the piggyback for the remora, so now I need one of those...

Overall, I'm hooked on my kabar beckers.

The 511 is still what I reach for when there's dirty work to be done.

Also, my BK24 is the only one with a screwy bevel, and I'm not sure how I feel about trying to reprofile d2 on my sharpmaker...  :D but it's sharp so I think I'm good

Thank you!!!  The scales are Ebony.....

I have been collecting these for a while....got my first back in the 70's, sold it in the 80's and been trying to get them all ever since.

A few other ones in the collection:

70's Buffalo Skinner & a Stainless Russell Hunter (transitional 70's/80's model?)

Two 70's era Dadleys

Bicentennial set

The 80's knives are the same patterns (plus a couple of variations) in walnut handles and are stainless steel.

Reckon that is a really great collection you have there SG!   8)   I remember those from back in the day. i always thought I get one or two but never did for some reason.

Now there is this Becker thing going on. Ordered some micrata grips for the BK7 and stainless hardware for the Bk7 and Bk11.

Tried the convex kit tonight.....the Rio Grand Bowie is about 95% done, a razor up to the last inch or so but the grind is infinitesimally off on the point so that may be part of it. The tip's  pretty sharp but needs more time.

The Trail Master slicked right up and is scary sharp!   :ahhh

Thanks bud!!   Hey, did you get that hardware off the bay....the only ones I could find there were in Aust...the last set I bought (for my BK-2, then lost) were in the states and included the wrench. Got the others coming and that's fine but wanted an extra wrench.

Thanks guys!

SG those are gorgeous. Love the classic look

These Beckers really are multiplying... I want another 15, it was only $42! I gotta get a 13 (remora) for my 5 too... And I still have a 7, 9, and 10 to acquire... Dunno about 11, 16, and likely no 14. I love these darn knives.

EBay had 'em under $42, for that price I'd buy three if I could afford it. Seriously, it's that good. Not a crazy hard user (not that you couldn't, just not the right shape), but what a slicer and general user! Ffg and a great profile. And the length over the other tweeners with the blade thinness makes it feel so nimble.

Not sure of the size Sn. I think the stainless hardware for the larger Beckers takes a 5/32 allen wrench. I ordered slotted head bolts from the link in post 1907 so I could use a regular screwdriver on them.    :)

I really want the Ken onion work sharp

I have the less expensive basic model, and it works great. The big advantage of the Ken Onion seems to be that it comes with guides for a wider range of angle profiles. I think the sanding belts may be wider, too (not sure). But for $70, the basic model is a great device for the money if you'd rather save your cash for another knife.

What I like, too, about the work sharp is how useful it is for quickly putting an edge on tools other than knives. For instance, was able to take an old hatchet and put a decent working edge on it in less than 5 minutes. I have a small yard, so my lawnmower blade hasn't need it yet, but I look forward to trying that next. Should be really easy to sharpen with a work sharp.

Right on! I hadn't looked too closely at them, as I'm still okay hand sharpening and just using the money for knives, but when the time comes, I think I may end up with the classic, thanks!

So the BK7 is out with etch and the new coating? My bk5 is old style so I wasn't sure if it was just the 5 or all full sized that hadn't switched (I heard they'd had large stocks of 5s so that's likely it). Does that mean the BK9 has the awesome bumpy coating now!? I quite fancy a set of those colorful scales on that link as well

Cheers for the 7 pic!
