That's a good one Ray congrats.

It's an older model and you paid a very reasonable price.

I'm not sure of the first year of production.

You do need to know that the pre 1990  XX Changer blades will not fit the post 1990 bodies and vice-versa.

It looks like yours is a 1988 production.

Here is some better photos...still need to clean it up. All the blades work and change out like they should. The first photos were not the best. So it is a 1987 with the three dots.
From what I have put together and I was thinking this was a first year, could very well be wrong! Seems ‘87 and ‘88 have the XX Changer on the back of the blade.
Those same years have a elliptical circle around the “Case”.
The ‘89 models are the same as the newer models on the tang stampings locations and the “Case” location.
Have called Case to ask the first year of production. Missed there returned call.

Do all of your blades have 3 dots?

I could only make out 2 dots.

A fellow collector has a saw blade that was marked six years prior the other blades being manufactured.LOL

Yes, all the blades have 3 dots. The fillet blade has a light strike on it but it is 3 dot also.
When I was trying to find one, I noticed the same thing on the saw blades!

Here is another picture of the Case Colt Trapper.

This illustrates the blade etching and the cool tin in which it was housed.

Folding Hunter and Large Stockman in black canvas laminate are my latest two.  The combination of the black handles and the mirror-polished blades looks really sharp.  I'm sure they would prove durable as well, if I can bring myself to use either of them...

I just got done watching a video with the Case owner...and he says that people come to the booth at the shows and tell him they don’t want to use there Case knives, he tells them they have his permission to use them!

I have the feeling there are about to be some XX Changer purchases...haha.

Ergo-wise, how does the XX Changer feel in hand? How does it compare to a Buck 110?

I saw some on ebay. The amber bone looks good...also, there is a zytel light weight model. Hmmmm

I have heard it is about the same length as a Buck 110. But thinner than the 110
Here is the XX Changer next to my Buck 112 Ranger, the XX Changer is way thinner!
The 110 I have is in storage as it was my dads before he passed away.
