Day 8 - got some work done today, first off my wife asked me if I could sew back a button in a pair of her pants so I had to use the plier to get the needle out of its home, then scissors for the thread. Then I used the PE blade to cut some chorizos for lunch and later I used the plier again but to change back the form on the bucket we have ash in so that the lid could sit tight.

                            Day 8

Serrated blade was used while packing some boxes today. It was quite fun just to place it over the tape at a slight angle and yank the tape up. Worked great.

Then the pliers were used to take out the metal dish out of the steam cooker. At the upper floor there were some chicken breasts. Add to that a scoop of butter, some BBQ souse and Soy souse and - "winner, winner, chicken dinner"

Day 8

December 8

Used the Rebar to help take apart a cheap MT…..for academic reasons. It wasn’t an exact science and had to use brute force trying to remove something. At the end, I was more or less successful at taking it apart. Good thing it was for spare parts only.

I have dismembered that very MT to harvest parts also.

Day 9

December 9

Used the Rebar as a T8 driver to open up a Wingman.

If there’s one thing I’m learning right now, it’s that there are times when 1 tool isn’t enough and a partner is needed.

Day 8

I used the blade a couple times this morning, but I didn't get a pic... just the usual package and box opening.  I'm still missing having a one-hand opening blade, but the Rebar is reminding me of the many years I used my Gerber Multipliers and never bitched about not having a one-hand opening blade   I hate to say it, but I am liking the Rebar more than the PST I carried last month - the Rebar is more functional and it feels much more durable than the PST.  These improvements come at the cost of a more bulky tool, but I don't notice the difference when it's in my pocket. Anyway, here is my daily pic -

Thanks Rich  :hatsoff:

The other handle has the flat driver (hoping it’ll work as a pry bar), Wingman package opener, can/bottle opener combo tool.

The Surge-like scissors and the knife blade. The internal tools could be useful also.

I was able to put those scissors into a Wave:

The MT and its variants are typical waaay overpriced on Amazon, but sometimes it can be bought for under $20. It is a great buy at that price.

I am completely unsurprised by what you found. When a low price electronic device fails, most of the time the cause for the failure is due to a cheap capacitor.
Oh, I've seen a lot of bloated and failed capacitors. But exploded  :o

  :like: Looks tasty

It was  :)    I rarely cook nowadays, but when I do I often find tons of momentary inspiration and come up with such stuff. Or I've seen it somewhere, forgot I've seen it, make it and think I have some kind of hidden tallent  :D

                                      Day 9

Opened a can of peas.

Ate an apple

Pried a stuck lid from a jar of boiled linseed oil. Needed it to soak this guy I finished today. Stared it on January while in quarantine, got to the middle of the project and just left it. Stayed on my pc ever since. Looked at it today and felt like finishing it, only cut myself twice  :climber:

What was that MT again  how well do thise scissors cut compared to the smaller internal scissors of the Wave  :like: :like:

They cut better than the Wave scissors if I remember correctly. I will be testing them soon.

Here are some of the "brands" being sold on Amazon at the moment:

 https://www.amazon.com/Multitool-Military-Stainless-Scissors-Emergency/dp/B091MTMYSF/

https://www.amazon.com/Multitools-SUNBIRD-Accessories-Multitool-Christmas/dp/B09CDR45F6/

https://www.amazon.com/Multitool-Assisted-Scissors-Multipurpose-Survival/dp/B091Y5WCZ2/

https://www.amazon.com/FANTASTICAR-Mintcream-Multitool-Spring-Action-Screwdriver/dp/B08W46L668/

https://www.amazon.com/WATERNEST-multitool-multi-tool-replaceable-sheath%EF%BC%8CStainless/dp/B095KN2ZCK/

A couple of these lack the file (no loss) and the saw (mediocre). All of them are overpriced at the moment in my opinion. I paid $30 for my Bercol branded version, and I used it for a couple of months. No complaints at all, but I don't think anyone should pay more than $30 for it. Since then, I bought 2 at $10 and 1 at $20. It is a good bargin at those prices.

But I did find this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Gehiqey-Multitool-1Multitool-Stainless-Valentines/dp/B09JZJSHQ5/

At the moment it can be bought for $20. The internal tools look different, but otherwise it is the same MT.

By the way, this is the thread in the Cheap and Cheerful subforum concerning this MT:

https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,87426.0.html
