UK available front flipper recommendations?
on: December 27, 2021, 05:53:37 AM
Got a bit of Christmas money and looking to spend it on something sharp, My attention was first caught by the Olight Parrot, which has the bonus of coming with the new style keychain light, but the Boker Wasabi in Cocobolo looks nice too!

I'm not sure what front flippers are really available easily in the UK at the moment, but I'm looking to spend around £50-£60 ideally. UK general legal isn't really an issue, just a bonus. So what say you MTOers? Help a guy burn some Christmas cash?

Often such knives will be front-flippers, but not advertised as such. It makes Googling quite a pain.

Best advice I have is to start with a browse through the Heinnie Haynes website... or maybe email/phone them for a natter?

Have a look at Civivi knives. I started a thread on front flippers some time ago, I'll look for it. It had some nice options there.

  :tu:

Edit: Here it is:

Actually looking to move it on if you fancy a bargain

From this video, it looks more like a back flipper than a front flipper.

Should be UK friendly, since it's non locking, apparently.

As it happens, it's the one I'm carrying today!

So for the time being I've gone with the Boker Plus Wasabi in cocobolo, seen below with the rest of my NYE carry.

I really like it! I took the clip off and did a clean and lubed up the bearings to get rid of a squeak, but it looks classy, has a great action and will be right at home in the collection.

I think this is both the beginning of a Boker kick and a front flipper one... Boker has upped their game, gone are the magnetic boxes and now they give you a zippered knife pouch, with soft fleece inside, multiple pockets and lockable zippers!

Very nice setup! Love the carbon fiber scales and the damascus blade. Classy!
