Nice selections! The Diamond Edge should say Providence RI, or Ireland.  I did an image search for the big Buck and had no luck.  It might have been part of a set and never sold by itself.  I like the dice too. Nice to fiddle with when you're bored.

Buck 282 sounds right.  Been discontinued for 25 years maybe.  Only looks big next to the itty bitty knives in photo.  Best wishes.  G

Nice picks, G-Dizzle! :tu: As a Buck fan, you probably at least narrowed down the year of manufacture of the 282. I couldn't quite make out the identifying symbol.

I hadn’t yet, but I was going to soon. Good thing about buck is you can always tell at least close by the tang stamp! I don’t have it in front of me but I know it was one of the “T”s, so 2003-6 based on an online guide

I take that back. The other Buck was the “T”. I will have to go back and look.

The year code symbol on the 282 looked like 2001 to me. The 425 was 2003.

Good call IMR. With the model number I found some on the bay with lots of pictures.  Properly called the NXT 282.  There was also an NXT 283 that had red handle accents and a partially serrated blade.

The package is back on the move!!

I didn’t take any chances with the tape 😂

This thing is a chonk! I wonder if there is a way to pull things out if they don’t get chosen after say 6 months or a year or something. I guess without an inventory that would be not feasible/too subjective.

Looks like enough tape, Diz.  About the stuff people don't choose.  You never can tell what people want.  One person takes little keychain screwdrivers.  Another wants a watch band.  Some are interested in a box cutter.  Someone else wants a little Imperial that looks like a Case Peanut.  Not stuff I am interested in.  I'm sure I have taken stuff that nobody else wanted.  People keep things I wouldn't really care for all the time.  Like all systems, nothing is perfect.  This one seems to work without trying to fine tune it.  Best wishes.  G

I'm still giving some thought to taking the box again after the dust has settled. Good to see it moving along!

Almost 16 pounds of goodness in the box if anyone else wants to sign up.

I'm not sure if you used enough tape.

Hopefully no more big holes! 😂 Also, I’m sure everyone enjoyed seeing me pack the box on my tailgate in the post office parking lot. I didn’t think I had any medium boxes at home.

I've had to re-pack boxes at the Post Office (though not quite on that involved a scale) before. If we keep going at this rate, we may have to use large flat rate boxes.

Just a word or two about boxes.  If you go to the post office there are TWO DIFFERENT medium flat rate boxes.  One is the flat box.  Look at the box on G-Diz' tailgate.  That is the FRB2 flat box.  If you look at the busted box he received, you can see it is the FRB1 top loading more square box.  That is the type I would recommend.
The two boxes have practically identical capacity, but the FRB1 square type (top loading) is much easier to pack then the FRB2 flat, side loading box that G-Diz used.  Also the top loader has all the weight AWAY from the main opening.  Assuming the shippers keep the label side up.  The other side loading box has the weight of the contents pushing against the openings practically any way you pack it.
If you are about to receive the surprise box, pick up the top loading box before you need it.  Don't try to cram stuff inside at the post office parking lot.  Pick up some labels and the top loading box ahead of time.  Maybe the surprise box will come to you in great condition.  All you need is to tape it back up and label it.  Fine.  Beware that the box will likely come compromised in some way or other.
The top loading box is a FRB1.  Inside dimensions are 11X8.5X6.5.  That is THE best box to use.  Free at the post office.  You have to assemble and tape the box.  Use lots of tape.  Best wishes.  G

And to think it started as a small box that was split.  It keeps growing.

Yeah, it keeps growing like some radioactive monster from a 1950's horror movie. :ahhh

The USPS tracking sometimes lags for 2 or 3 days without updating and the package could be anywhere during that time, so, we have no way to be sure that the surprise box was never anywhere near Chernobyl or Fukushima.  Whoever gets it next might be wise to keep it outside overnight to see if it glows or pulsates. :pok:

Packaged arrived, intact.

My goodness this package has put on weight from last time it visited.  I may need to layout a blanket on the floor and lay out the contents for inspection.

This could take days as I am working solo!

Will open when current project is completed…

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Pretty much the same.
Card board on wide top and bottoms are bowed slightly and tape stretched.  Likely only reason it did not burst open from the weight shifting around inside.

The side walls are just fine. This flat style box would not survive a second trip the bowels of the USPS!🤪

It's Jon Stewart from The Daily Show. :pok:  In any case, it does illustrate the anticipation we all feel.  I am literally sitting on the edge of my seat.  Ok, it's because the cat jumped into the chair behind me so I can't back up.  However, since it is now her chair, I'm lucky she's left me any space to sit at all.  I really am looking forward to seeing LoopCutter's picks though. :hatsoff:
