Day 9

   Wenger hanging out on a trail camera.  Lots of deer and vermin to take interesting photos.  Batteries are almost defunct however.  Has anyone noticed that alkaline battery quality has declined in the last couple of years?  That was accompanied by a price increase, of course.
   Somehow I missed some of the posts from day 7 here.  I went back looking for something and saw them this morning.  The dogwood trees have their leaves turning a sort of bronze color now, and there is already some yellow colors in the verbesina and goldenrod.  Temps at night have fallen almost 20 degrees.  Cool and dry.
   Monday the 9th means Friday the 13th is coming.  I hope something doesn't flow through the crack under my door in a sort of vapor.  Looking for it's (her) dog food coupon book.  Probably doesn't want it's (or her) legal looking letter.  Those things are always bad news.  I might have to wait by my battered mailbox today and flag down the letter carrier truck.  Maybe I can get my Ms. Phoenix problem across to the letter carrier.  I hope its still the cute brunette.
   I feel a little like a mousie for not going the extra 200 feet up to the tottering brown cottage with the misplaced mail.  Ms. Phoenix could be in a wheelchair or something.  If you can believe the movies, even creatures from the nether regions and darkened stygian depths can be nice, right?  I'm not really afraid if you get right down to it.  I am allergic to dog bites, and I figure anyone who never goes outside and leaves a bag containing something dead so the vultures can swarm it right outside their house can't be all that normal.  Come to think of it, I don't believe I will try to leave the house next Friday.  Might stuff something under the bottom of the door too.  Best wishes.  G

@AzteCypher: I like a good chili pepper!

@Echotech:  :drool:

@IMR4198: I haven't really paid much attention, but a decline in quality of alkalinebatteries certainly wouldn't surprise me. And thanks for a reminder that I need to reiterate the special rule in effect for Friday.

@z1913: :like:

@LoopCutter: you've got an EvoGrip collection starting up, eh?

@BPRoberts: you speak the truth!

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 9

A couple of Patriots. It's a shame Wenger didn't make more extensive use of Eloxy.

Day 10

I am returning my Nextorch Pioneer. For $150 AUD, it is not worth it. The blade's thumbhole is chamfered so the blade cannot open one-handed. The saw is the same. The shears do not cut all that well. The zip tie cutter doesn't either. For that much money, I'd rather not have it and have the money. Customer Service was slow. Not impressed. It's my fault for believing that after my Nextool Flagship Mini failures, this would be ok.

Day 10

   Wenger Esquire on a little jaunt.  I would have pruned back some holly branches that were hanging down in my driveway, but the little knife isn't up to that sort of thing.  Normally I would take out a 108mm and rip the branches off with a saw.  I have a bigger Wenger with a saw on it.  Might switch my carry for the last half of the challenge.
   I allowed the US Postal Service to recycle Ms. Phoenix mail.  Let's see where they go this time.  The befuddled letter carrier stuck something addressed to a grading company in my box yesterday.  That business is located miles from where I live.
   I opened some little packages of mozzarella yesterday with the Wenger.  The plastic was tough, and the tiny knife struggled with it.  I thought I had nipped my thumb at one point, but I finally got it done without bloodshed.  I use a nailfile every day for nail filing.  Scissors were used on a sticker.  Wenger scissors oscillate up and down relative to the handle when you use them.  That is annoying.  I think the 65mm may wake up in a drawer somewhere before long.  Best wishes.  G

Day 10

The EVO 10 arrived late afternoon, an auction site purchase via buy it now.

It soaked for while in Dawn, was brushed clean of remaining lint and residue. Then dried via hair dryer without heat.

Then oiled awl implements and wiped down scales to return some sheen.

This morning, tested, awl is moving free, and a quick strop of main blade, it is ready for duty.

Added a MICRO DRIVER to the Corkscrew. And a SUSPENSION CLIP (courtesy of the SOS Box last time in house), and this Delemont version of a SAK is prepared for carry .

   Frenchephaistos has been determined to make the EU Surprise box work.  I noticed at least one other Czech member on the list to receive it.  I would suggest you read the rules and get signed up to take a turn with the box.  Congratulations to all the EU members.  Best wishes.  G

@ReamerPunch: I hope they didn't give you the runaround or a bunch of grief during the return process.

@AzteCypher: your photo shows the background on the Wenger inlay very well! :tu:

@Echotech: wow! :drool:

@z1913: I'm gonna have to look that one up. It has a very cool look to it!

@Humayd A R Mahomedy: I hope it was a fairly simple job. Wiring has never been one of my favorite tasks.

@IMR4198: Wenger scissors certainly do have a little movement when in use. I strongly prefer Victorinox scissors, and wonder why they kept the Wenger type for the Delémont line.

@LoopCutter: looks great!

@Antti Lammi: I'm liking those big beasts even more!

@BPRoberts: I'd guess you introduced your wife to multis as well?

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 10

Some mail from the VA was opened. I knew damn well what it was, and that it would go into the shredder.

They'll get their money later. :twak:

Now I have to take a quick hop outside and try to determine why so many fire engines have roared past my house. I don't think I'm in any danger, yet the power did surge briefly.
