Day 12

A couple of Case rope knives:

(Image removed from quote.)

I have found that I am a sucker for Case's walnut handles.

Those are beautiful  :like:

I'm trying to decide which knife to take camping all next week. Any internet opinions.

I've narrowed it down to these. I think I'm leaning towards either keeping the Urban Jack going, the case medium jack or the lambsfoot

Although now that I think about it I could bring my GEC 71 bullnose

My take would be; if you are likely to be doing any kind of extended periods of cutting, whittling etc. take whichever one fits your hand best.  I love a small pocket knife (that Medium jack is one of my favourites) but anything that takes more than a minute to do and you're going to miss a comfy, hand filling grip.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

For my camping trip and for a harty knife, the Buck 112 via sheath carry would be my first choice. Can cut and shape tent stakes, prepare kindling or feather sticks for fire starting. Can clean a fish, prep vegies and cut any meat for dinner.

A smaller pocket carry your choice, should be comfy in your hand, used to help remove a splinter, or thorn, do  some whittling, sharpen sticks for smokes prep, etc.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

30? Scouts in 30 Days: Day 13

This "Case" (probably Camillus) Scout spent the day helping with a campfire cooking class, opening canned fruit and getting a nice patina from slicing berries. I'll get some better pics of it up in a day or two after we see some other related knives to talk about.

Day 14

Nothing exciting today as it was a relaxation day.  Just a little bit of box breakdown duties.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

That's a beautiful case knife. I've always wanted to grab one of those, but I've held a SAK soldier as the pinnacle of that style and just never end up carrying the other scout knives I buy.

Day 13

Still haven't quite decided what to carry when I leave tomorrow. I probably won't know until I walk out the door with my wife yelling to hurry up.  She doesn't understand how serious this is!

Anyway I carried the lambsfoot and urbanjack together today. The lambsfoot is one of my most often carried knives over the last half decade or so. I carried it in the army and it accompanied me to Europe even, I think it might have popped up in the background of the "Soldier On" 90 day challenge from a couple years ago even.

Everyone has had good advice. We'll see how I feel tomorrow but maybe I'll do the lambsfoot as a small pocketable carry and bring a Opinel No. 8 as a comfy hand filling knife for when those dangerous sticks need to be uh smaller sticks.

I love the Svord Peasants, it's a love hate relationship, they've bite me more than any other knife. I moddify mine by swapping the handle around the opposite direction.

This one is the fullsize like yours one looks to be, they do make a mini version that should be UK legal.

I'd team the Opinel with a multi and a fixed-blade.

Opening some boxes with the No. 5
They certainly excel in that role! :like:

Not for me...I'm currently stuck in a holding pattern waiting to donate plasma.

What was the mod? I thought a Mini Peasant would be UK-legal.

Day 14

I don't anticipate any use today, so I'm pondering why the cap lifter is so much larger than the can opener.

Buck is one of my favorite knife companies because of everything they stand for as a company as well as the product. It’s rare to find a company like Buck these days.
