The trouble with the BO finnish is when the tool is new you don't want to scratch it but once it gets a few marks on them it doesnt look spoilt in any way . Does yours have a waxy kind of feel to it ?

Dunc

Only if you are a tart.  :D

yeah it did... kinda chaulky feeling (the tools at least)... it really annoyed me so i got some 1000 grit sandpaper and worked them over to my liking. the only tools that did not get that treatment were the saw and the file.
the scales/ handles had a completely different feel. very smooth... very shiny. based on my use it looks like the BO on the tools is not as durable as the BO on the scales.

Hi guys, great forum. Amazed by the amount of stuff you've all accumulated!

Anyway, my membership to the 'Spirit Owners Club' is currently pending. Waiting for a lovely new Spirit 'S' in black oxide to arrive!!! I ordered it from Tim at Felinevet purely based on the feedback from you all that I saw on the forum during my time lurking.

Quick question, for those in the UK that have bought from Tim, how long do things normally take to to arrive??

Most of my orders have taken about 2 weeks to arrive, but some of them have been much quicker.  More importantly tim always sends things reliably and well packed.  He has some of the best prices out there.  Great guy to deal with :tu:

Spirit S is a great MT.  Prepare to want to collect them all :)

I have a Spirit X now on my belt, well, okay, it's the Plus model with Ratchet, but who's paying attention anyhow? ;)

I must say the Spirit feels better in my hands than even a Juice, which is saying something because the Juice models feel amazing. o.o;  On the note of the Juice comparison, though, my handles are a bit offset from each other, noticeable at the jaws and more pronounced at the locks; it's slight, but definitely noticeable to my eyes.

Still, it's an amazing multitool. o.o

The Spirit is truly the Gentelman's multi . I have the corkscrew adapter for mine , just the thing for Toffish garden parties ! Not wishing to reignite the Vic vs Leatherman thing , but the bottle opener on the Spirit is much superior , single stroke positive action .

How many of you guys have the corkscrew ? Just got mine , it reeks of quality , and is a good solid fit to the tool . Swiss engineering down to the details , if only they would learn to bead or vapour blast their drivers !!!! And give us a shaggin pocket clip !

Patience Grasshopper....

Here's a little story for you, my friend.

It takes place years ago, in Roma. I'm in the living room, thinking about getting a Swisstool Spirit. Ebay, very good price, the decision is made: I order one, with a beautiful leather sheath. Then I go back to the living room. And I wait. I wait. I wait so much I forget about it! The shop I ordered it from was in Vermont, which is far from here - sure - but it's not on Jupiter!!! November comes, my birthday is in a few days, I can't wait any longer, so I get out of the living room (!) and drive to a shop, buy a Spirit (full italian price, that's a lot!) and happy as a kid I show it to everybody as a newborn child. Then december comes... and the Spirit I ordered from Vermont knocks on my door! I'm sure you can imagine how happy and surprised I was. I gave it to my brother, as a christmas present.

Now, if you really can't wait, don't torture yourself. Go outside, buy one and play with it until you get the first one. This way you'll have two and if you want, you can give one to your brother. And if you don't have a brother, you can give it to mine. So he'll have two and will probably give one to his brother. Me. :D

How many of you guys have the corkscrew ? Just got mine , it reeks of quality , and is a good solid fit to the tool . Swiss engineering down to the details , if only they would learn to bead or vapour blast their drivers !!!! And give us a shaggin pocket clip !

I have the corkscrew. I wish I had two or three, just in case. It just works. It does. I've opened hundreds of bottles of wine with it and it never failed once. Chapeau to Switzerland and its people, masters of steel.  :tu:

Delivery is pretty slow ATM.  Something I got today was sent about 2.5 weeks ago if that's of any help.

Some things have been quick - some taking ages (in and out). I haven't spotted any pattern other than everything takes too long.

It'll take as long as it takes I suppose, doesn't make it any easier though.  :( Tim posted it on the Monday of last week so I've got a while before I start panicking

I think the wife is getting seriously annoyed with me though. I'm ringing her every few hours while I'm at work, asking 'any post???' ;)
