I might have bought another Crunch :whistle: :facepalm:

I bought it out of fear that they might have been discontinued when they were out of stock for a bit on LMs website  ::) :D

So I have the new 0820 Crunch here beside my 0505 Crunch and noticed a few differences. Most of these are just different stampings or rather lack of in some areas ::)


Just a different stamp on this side :salute:





This one is completely different  :ahhh apparently they don't even stamp one side of the new Crunches :ahhh





The tools are almost identical :salute:



Well almost ;) the files are different, the older one looks more refined and the newer one is a bit rougher but that also means it is a bit more aggressive  :tu: each file can have pluses and minuses because of that :salute:





Still very happy with the purchase and glad to have 2 of them now :woohoo:

Start a new thread and post a photo of the keychain for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. You have one of your pictures in the 2018 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year.

They seem to fit the machines & tooling for them once a year or so and produce a apecific number.

They've been rumors going back to at least 2009 of the discontinuation, but I expect that there has been steady demand for the product, and LM would have recouped the setup costs years ago, so it probably brings good margins for them. I think the new stampings we saw recently indicate they refreshed the tooling, so I'm sure there's still life left in this unique MT. They probably ran out of head springs or some other part that's either outsourced or needs special blank stock. Someone in their demand planning team is probably getting their fingernails pulled right now with a Crunch.  :D
